This sign is located at the base of the accessible ramp that leads to Peninsula State Park’s Eagle Tower. Using a cow as a unit of measurement is very appropriate for Wisconsin.

Our oldest son got us on Zoom the other day. Never heard of it but quite interesting you can get a bunch of people all on at one time. He said he teaches his class for high school now on it and the oldest grandchild sees all his classmates and has daily class lessons. Mind boggling to us.

"Bubble" Fam

The Nova Scotia Government lifted some restrictions today, one being that you can have "one" other family in your bubble!!! Now I get to spend more time with my son!! Photo credit goes to him!!

One from the last walk before lockdown

A digital photo I imaged of a couple sitting and chatting near the ocean which I converted into a high contrast 'litho-film effect" reminiscent of a darkroom technique I once used to do.

Social distancing and staying at home are the best options we have to slow the spread of COVID-19. No doubt about that. But those tactics take a toll too after a while. So this is probably not a good time to watch Stephen King's "The Shining."

Best viewed LARGE. Be well and be safe, friends. Slainte !

Male shrikes look, to my eye, like middle-aged Northern Italian ladies - they're missing the blonde hair dyed in the same hue as their tan, but otherwise I'm sure I saw that pink cashmere sweater/suede jacket combo 20 times a day in Milano.

Eva: Dave, where is everyone?

Dave: We're all being socially responsible and keeping a some increased physical space between us.

Eva: Oh, I get it. They saw Aggie coming and thought they should give us some space.

Dave: Not that. Well, not that this time. It's more to do with helping keep infection rates down for coronavirus.

Eva: Oh. That sounds important.

Dave: It totally is.

Eva: But can I tell you something? It's kind of sad because the only people I can talk to here are you and this bumble bee. And the bee is not very conversational right now.

Dave: I get it. But on the plus side us humans are spending more time at home with you right now.

Eva: Awesome. And more time at home with humans equals more cookies! So let's be socially responsible and eat more cookies.

----------

The world seems upside down right now, but we're all doing our best. And the dogs truly are enjoying the extra human time at home. I don't think that they've been alone for over a week now, which does mean extra cookies and cuddles. Plus walks in the park are still a good option for us.

I heard a good quote saying that "physical distancing" is a better term than "social distancing". Even though we're all physically more distant now, society is doing this together for the good of everyone. And we have such technological gifts available to us that we can keep being social even though we are physically distant.

They aren't very alpine in Romania, and mostly grow in shadowy areas such as forests. These I found hidden under a hedge on my daily walk.

Funny little difference: you know all the 19th century romantic poetry using violets as a motif associated to pale, wan, beloved women? In Romanian, the translations use alpine squill instead, because violets are gendered masculine in Romanian - hard to be wan and romantic about a flower called little-axe or three-spotted-brother.

I feel like this works better than the original, however. Alpine squill really is a pale, wan flower that needs specific conditions to bloom, whereas violets are cheerful, hardy weeds that take over entire lawns if you're not paying attention.

Tartuffe didn't wait for a pandemic to force others to keep their distances from him ;P.

If you look closely, you'll see he's actually holding the remains of a chew toy (that has definitely served its purpose) and of course, he thinks the others want to steal it from him...

Frankfurt Bahnhofsviertel

The well-known Frankfurt amusement district with brothels, bars and sex shops has been totally run down since the Covid measures. Here only junkies and dealers lurk around.

One of my favorite reminders about keeping our social distance from each other! Seen at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival! Now can we find a volunteer cow to check our spacing? Be safe everyone!

Yesterday we got his Dad's mail and papers and took them over to his sisters. Social distancing Dave did with all of them. His Dad is coming along pretty good. Still hurts to cough.

Spotted on the crosswalk near Second Beach!!! The elusive Stanley Park Sasquatch has been seen eating social butterflies. He’s only grabbing the ones who are gathered in groups at the beach or around the city and dragging them back into the park. I snapped this photo of a Vancouver police officer keeping at least 2 metres away while allowing him to cross the road empty handed. BE ON THE LOOK OUT for a large, muscular, bipedal ape-like creature, roughly 9 feet tall and covered in dark brown hair. Last seen headed towards Lost Lagoon. USE CAUTION if approached!!! With a 12 foot stride, this creature can easily reach speeds of 60+km/hr (compared to the fastest recorded man at 45km/hr) and he's very angry and extremely hungry. Sources say there may be more than one. People are being advised to stay home and avoid any get-togethers with friends or extended family. Dune & Donna practicing Social Distancing, took this picture for Donna so she could send to her students. She misses them.

Yesterday was a friend named Betty Inman and she is in a retirement home north of our town and we all grew up with her and she was a teacher in town and of course none of us would go out to a physical visit so we had a party last night in the backyard. Gotta do what you gotta do. We had a cake and we held up pics of her from last years party I was at and we sent this out to her via email last evening. Even Bosley came and look he got a hair cut!!

Saturday - April 11, 2020 - A few snapshots of eggs that were found around our neighborhood. I had much more fun making my display than attempting to make a collage from a few of the photographs.
