This is the sixth piece in group project I am involved in called I Am Here. This work is in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and continues my experiences in the seniors photography workshop where we are looking at the communities in which we live. We are working towards a group project of some sort that we are collectively trying to define. It is very interesting for me as I have not worked collaboratively in my art very much.

Just before you cross the border from British Columbia into Alaska at White Pass, a wonderful vista opens up across Summit Lake to the Boundary Ranges in the southeast.

Metrolink tram service; Rochdale to East Didsbury line.
With the new restriction on social distancing when using public transport this tram is nearly full; two more places available. The wearing of face covering has not become mandatory yet but will be from June 15th.

This sculpture is a duplicate of one that is downtown, and which I photographed many years ago during a blizzard. When I moved into my current neighbourhood a few years ago, I saw this sculpture halfway down the block. I wondered if it was the exact same one, and if so, what the story was. Nope. (I met the neighbours today & got the scoop - their family has a bronze casting business, and they provided the bronze for the sculpture ... and got their own as well. I think.)

Some animals seem to have social distancing down to a science. The female cheetah raises her young on her own, doing her best to keep them hidden and safe from other major predators. She does so for close to two years before chasing them off to live on their own. Once dispersed, siblings tend to stay together for another 6 to 8 months before going on to lead the solitary life of the cheetah. We are mere amateurs at the science of separation when compared to many creatures of the world. #Cheetahs #Socialdistancing
