Patriotic horse in Gallup, New Mexico
Another shot from my Philippines trip. I haven't had the opportunity to spend some time and take some shots since I got back. Adding three weddings in three weekends, doesn't help any either.
Keep Snappin'
This is my Granddad's Zeiss Ikon Nettar 515, late thirties/early forties model I believe. It's been taking pictures of my family since waaay before I was born :) I use 120 cameras but not used this one yet - I found it in dad's attic a while back and it needs a bit of reconditioning before it will work properly. It's a good camera though :) Usually it sites on my mantelpiece reminding me to keep on snappin' - It's a nice thing to have :)
Oh yeah!
Strobist 411: I had the SB-600 on a light stand, behind me and to my right, aimed straight up at the ceiling (1/4 output) and the SB-800 on the table to my left, pointed at Campbell (1/64 output).
Our first #sfmoto2014 winner, Annette Carrion, stopped by the shop today to select her new helmet! Congrats again, Annette!! The second round of our IG Photo Contest is going on now, so get snappin' and you could be our next helmet winner! Don't forget that your earned SF Moto Service Dept. Reward Credits expire on 7/1914, and you don't want to let those go to waste!
A shot of my old Polaroid Sun600 camera - and my very first nighttime strobist shot. I was really out just to see how I'd go making some bokeh. A little dissapointed I didnt get the whole camera in focus but I can reshoot and perfect that later, pretty happy for a first attempt.
Strobist: SB900 at 1/16th into collapsed umbrella, camera left.

Oh what a night it was in the land of Swirl’n mic Mad-ness! As Swirve started their jazzy madness, the crowd found their way to the stage with their heads boppin’ and their fingers snappin’. As the last notes were fading away, hosts Johnny O & Chris Zimmerly got the show goin’ with an introduction of Texas Beat poet PW Covington! PW took us on down the roads that only he knows and goes to. Did’a miss it? But no worries, you can still view it on our Mad Swirl UStream channel.
After a brief intermission, the mic got opened up to the mad ones who filled the Lounge. And what a night of the beat-utifullest poetry and music ensued! Here’s a shout out to all who graced us with their words, their songs, their divine madnesses…

HUGE thanks to Swirve (Chris Curiel, Tamitha Curiel, & Gerard Bendiks) for keeping the beat til the wee hours of the night. We got taken to another dimension of time and space on the wings of their jazzy madness!
Thanks to Kevin Christensen, owner of Absinthe Lounge, who has given 125 reasons to give him all the mad props and love that we do!
And finally we would like to thank ALL of you who freely shared their hand claps, finger-snaps, hoots and howls with all the mad ones who got up on this sacred mad swirlin’ mic.
We look forward to ALL the m-adventures to come! Stay tuned…
One of my bestest pals in all the land got married in Greece today. Since my international travel is limited because of a paperwork snaggle, I couldn't be there to witness it in person. Instead I woke up before the sun to watch some of the reception on the hotel webcam.
Congrats Melmel!
The twinkle in your eyes
The fireworks that happen
Inside my heart they're snappin'
I'm wishin' on a star to be with you
The gators are floatin' and the turtles are snappin' as the Southern Belle moves through the swamps of the Deep South - oops, wait a second - it's Comanche, Iowa on Oct. 2 on the DM&E!

This kid is cool as hell. We were shooting Corey tonight and all of a sudden I see some kid with a camera around each shoulder. He started snappin' photos and I knew that this dude was ill. It turns out that he knows half of the people that I know and I've never met him before. Now we are acquainted!

Being stuck around the hose with a sick puppy, havnt had much to shoot--until i went to gather veggies in my garden, where i found my neglect had caused me to have creepy-crawlies GALORE--soooo--as they say--any port in a storm, right?? so i started snappin!!!
The FPP guys spent a great morning at Ringwood Manor in Jersey walking around snappin' 'pitures'. Lots of fun.

Just got my Nikon and started happy snappin away at a family bbq - lazy sunday for the adults, an absolute riot for the kids ...
I tried to do the cheesy head turn thing that everyone does, and I think it looks retarded. Actually I just wanted to see what I looked like with a bandana on and I started snappin these pictures. Oh well...
Tree snappin' snowfall.
It took me an hour and 40 minutes to do an eighth of my morning commute so I said 'to Hell with this' and took a snow day.
I've caught a cold. But im still here, snappin' away.
My books for summer class came yesterday. There are 700 pages between two covers, and i have to read them before the end of the month.
The Brooklyn Philharmonic and Youth Choir are apparently the "house band" of the South St. Seaport free concert series and always kick things off. It was great when they joined the Apples in Stereo onstage for a final number before they started the fireworks show.
The Apples looked and sounded terrific, I hadn't seen them live in years but they are every bit as entertaining and energetic as they were back in the day (think Satyricon, Portland Oregon, maybe late 90's or early 2000's). Their sound is now super-clean, finger-snappin' pop proper peppered with a few hints of those good old overdriven fuzz guitar solos from the Elephant Six days.
Total blast, and really funny as well, made me wonder when pop music became so serious? (Kinda have to blame R.E.M. a little for that, with apologies.) The apples were dressed in silver robes and goofy space-age shades, and insisted they'd returned from ten years in the future, saying it was simply more convenient to time-travel because they could do all their shows at once but spread them out over years in our "time frame". Oh, and energy is free in the future so that really helps with the whole van thing. Awesome!

Today, I gave my good friend Saman a little tutorial on how I do white background (ie: High Key) photos. We picked up a bunch of butcher paper, taped it up and started snappin'! We got our friend Ben aka Macklemore ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIBdAdnTqqo ) to grab some 'fits and model for us. Here are my photos from the shoot.
