Hove beach hut shadows. There was a bit of a photoshoot going on...but what they didn't realise was that what they were creating with their own shadows was actually more interesting...well, to me anyway! ;-) Shame the guys elbow got in the way though!
There she was just a-walkin' down the street,
Singin' (Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do)
Snappin' her fingers and shufflin' her feet,
Singin' (Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do)
She looked good (looked good),
She looked fine (looked fine)
She looked good, she looked fine
And I nearly lost my mind
Rosanna's daddy had a car she loved to drive
Stole the keys one night and took me for a ride
Turned up the music just as loud as it could go
Blew out the speakers in her daddy's radio
She was shakin' (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Snappin' her fingers (oh-oh-oh-oh)
She was movin' round and round (oh-oh-oh-oh)
That girl was shakin' (oh-oh-oh-oh)
We started drinkin' wasn't thinkin' too straight
She was doin' 80 and she slammed on the brakes
Got so high we had to pull to the side
We did some shakin' 'til the middle of the night
Shakin' (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Snappin' her fingers (oh-oh-oh-oh)
She was up and down and round and round (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Shakin' (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Shakin' (oh-oh-oh-oh)
(Oh-oh-oh-oh)
(Oh-oh-oh-oh)
(Oh-oh-oh-oh)
I got a little nervous
When she took her coat off
She looked so pretty
Ah, yeah
I'm always talkin', baby, talkin' too much
I love that little girl and I just can't get enough
It takes a lonely night with nowhere to go
Just call Rosanna and it's a hell of a show
And she's shakin' (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Snappin' her fingers (oh-oh-oh-oh)
She'll be movin' round and round (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Oh, she's shakin' (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Shakin' (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Snappin' her fingers (oh-oh-oh-oh)
She'll be movin' up and down (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Round and round and round
And shakin' (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Sha-sha-sha-sha-sha, she was shakin' (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Sha-sha-sha-sha-sha, she was shakin' (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Sha-sha-sha-sha-sha, she was shakin' (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Sha-sha-sha-sha-sha, she was shakin' (oh-oh-oh-oh)

Some all-hot half-shot was headin' for a hot spot
Snappin' his fingers, clappin' his hands
And some fleshpot mascot was tied into a lover's knot
With a whatnot in her hand.

Ok a little back story...my mother's parents were from a little town in Sicily called Floridia. My grandfather had 7 brothers and when my grandfather and grandmother came over to America a brother stayed in Italy. One year after my mother graduated from Juliard school of music (piano) she was sent to stay with her uncle in Sicily for a few months. My mother's aunt had surgery and my dad was a surgeon making a house call to my mother's aunt when my mother was visiting. Long story short they fell in love and because my mother was raised in America but with Italian immigrant parents she spoke both languages and therefore was able to communicate with my dad. They wrote letters back and forth and eventually got married and my dad moved to America but his mother (my nonna and his sister (my Zia Rita) stayed in Sicily. My dad had to learn English and get relicensed in America to practice medicine as a surgeon in New York City. He bought a summer home back in Siracusa and as a child I spent many summers with my dad and Nonna in Italy. Can't believe after all these years I'm finally going back and am excited to show Tim where I spent many a summers growing up! Wish I was visiting my dad, my Nonna and my Zia Rita but of course they have long passed…
Leaving tomorrow morning and will be back September 14...see you all then! :))
Goin through the dolly closet and bringing back some dollies who haven't seen the light of day for years!!
Since convention is just a week or so away, I decided to start snappin pix of my convention dollies.
Ah Lillith & Eden. They were the dolls I HAD to have at the Dark Romance convention. They hold a special place in my heart because they were the first dolls I bought in the souvenir shop at my very first convention. Ah memories.
The next stop is Chatham as CP 2246 02H-26 Holiday Train approaches Euphemia Line at mile 41.3 on the Windsor Sub at Bothwell. With a brisk headwind, the flags were snappin' sharply.
I went out for a drive this morning as it was dry for a change. Didn't see anything worth snappin'....well, except for these Clematis seeds which were right outside my front door. Could've saved myself some diesel and not left the house? :)
It's been a bit grey and miserable recently......not many opportunities to get snappin' so this one's from a few weeks ago. I liked the sun reflected rather than at the top of the shot :)

Well maybe/maybe not. This was our villa in Vietnam. I played with it in Analog Efex. Gotta get this project started again! I took a series of photos of the curtain moving in the breeze and tried to put them on top of each other but it just wasn't working. I should have done the double exposure in camera. One day I will have time to learn processing and also have time to think through shots. Though, I do wonder if I did have time whether that would change anything - I am just a mad snappin' fool.
drivin', walkin', talkin', snappin' with the lovely Qua last weekend in Seattle....we came upon this location

And he never cared to make a dime
But give him his guitar
And he'd be happy all the time

And beggin' him don't stop
And hypnotized

I had been watching the Yosemite web cams all week while the storm lingered. Finally on Friday I couldn't stand it any longer. I threw my sleeping bag and several blankets in the rolling toaster and went for it. The forecast was changing daily, but a lot of snow was projected. I just hoped and prayed that there would be a few breaks in the storm. When I got to Yosemite Valley it was raining. In the evening the rain turned to snow. Lots of snow. As I lay wrapped up like a burrito in my car I dreamed of waking up to a winter wonderland. And I did. But it was still snowing. And it kept snowing. I drove down to the Valley View and waited. I waited from 5am until 9am. I sat in the car. I walked around in the snow. I walked along the river. It didn't look like the weather was going to change, but I was determined to be there if it did let up. It was a long morning. I met alot of interesting people...most of them were other photographers. They had come from all over the country. I kept thinking that I was so spoiled to live within a few hours of such an amazing place like Yosemite. It's easy to forget things like that.
So anyway....a little bit of light started to break through the clouds around 8:00am. I stood in "my spot" that I had staked out. Guarding it like a gold claim. Just when it seemed like there was going to be a break it would start dumping again. I stood in the snow behind my tripod...plastic trash bag over my camera. Occasionally I would shake the trash bag and knock the snow off. Then stick my hands back in my pockets. Other photographers came and went. We would chat for a while. "Where are you from?.....Indiana?....wow....that's a long way.......oh...leaving eh?.....yeah...looks like it's snowing again....take her easy..."
Then finally around 9:30am the sky broke open and I actually got to take the bag off the camera and start snappin. I didn't get the amazing sunrise I was dreaming of, but still...it was a nice Saturday morning. Really nice.
