The Banana - what on odd thing. Comes with biodegradable wrapper and staple of comedic slipping over visual joke.
Oktoberfest. After staggering out of the tent, we got something from this gentleman, but to tell you the truth I can't remember what it was. I think it was delicious, though.
Snacks to go with the evening tea. Dhokla, jamuns and jalebi with a kari patta for the nose. Tee hee!

Sticky rice on a stick. Mixed with some chili paste for an added kick, placed on a grill until the outside turns crispy. They were really filling but I couldn't get enough of these savory-with-just-a-touch-of-sweetness snacks. Next to the sticky rice stick is a steamed egg, also very tasty street snack. At Talat Khua Din, the wet market next to Talat Sao.
Stopped on K14 north of Lyons Kansas. It was a nice sunny day and there wasn't any wind but by the time I got to Holdrege Nebraska there was snow and 40 mph winds.
01/15/08 - Fruit Snacks are pretty much the only thing Kory will eat right now. Not exactly a balanced meal but there's no reasoning with a toddler! BTW, he LOVES this photo...think I may frame it and put it up in his room, lol!
09.25.07 : In celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, we were presented with platters of complimentary peanuts and water caltrop, a kind of water chestnut that resembles buffalo horns. I never saw such a thing! It was hard biting through the dark, hard shell just to get to the white meat inside. =P
Despite what a lot of people may think, the City of St. Petersburg does not have frontage along the Gulf of Mexico. However, when they were building the Treasure Island Causeway (which connects Treasure Island with St. Pete), the City of Treasure Island wanted to charge a toll. In exchange for the toll booth, Treasure Island gave St. Pete a beach parking lot, giving the city beach access. Municipal quirks.

The bakery around the corner from my hotel (Cityview) turned out to be really good. From the egg tarts and the roast pork buns to the milk custard buns and the wife cakes, everything was delicious and fresh.
