I was gonna have a medical procedure that required fasting, and I hate to be hungry, so I packed a light snack bento for afterward. Then I forgot it at home, but it was okay because I was too groggy to eat until we got home anyway.
The fork and spoon are from a kid's set from Ikea. The elastic was from a bento set from ebay, and the box is just an ordinary piece of (non-bento) plasticware. The cloth is a bandanna type scarf.
Snacks. Yes, my vice. I came back from Europe, Africa and Asia (Germany, Tunisia, Egypt, Bangkok and Hong Kong) with two check ins full of snacks. As usual.
This is a cross section of what I picked up with no duplicates shown (not shown, teas, spices, preserved dried plums and ginger, or the kilos of Hong Kong Maltesers picked up for CT because she likes them. Kee Kee.)
Most notable are the Deyma Tunisian dates which almost rival the ones in Dubai (diff but so good. Fresh and nut dominant) which both HL and I stocked up on for omiyage. There's a limited ed biscoff stroopwafel which I couldn't not pick up in Frankfurt, then the slew of Asian chips as I cleared out a 7-11. Embarrassing confession: I almost missed my Bangkok to Hong Kong connection because I was trying to pick up the seaweed sheets and a mango sticky rice (I mean, Thai mango...)
Little beauties,had them here all winter,around 100 of the Red Poll species,In the last few days their numbers have dropped dramatically. I think I only have around 25 of these little ones still here...maybe a good sign of "Spring" coming...

A couple of days ago I saw a downy woodpecker start eating one of the pears, last nite was suprised to see a downy ( probably same one) go back to the same pear that had previously snacked on

Tai Shan, the baby (well, not really a baby anymore) panda at the National Zoo in Washington DC, was enjoying a snack of bamboo when we visited the zoo a few weeks back.
