Smooth Carrion Flower (Smilax herbacea) is a perennial vine-like plant of thickets and woods. It's green flower emits an odor of rotten flesh, not to attract bees, but instead flies for pollination. Its spring blooms give way to clusters of dark berries in the summer.

The rarest British reptile, Smooth Snakes are found only on the southern heaths, mainly in Hampshire and Dorset. Being non venomous, they use constriction to subdue their prey.

Member of the Cuckoo family. Very common and widespread resident in Trinidad & Tobago (Crotophaga ani).

Interestingly, these birds live in groups of up to 5 breeding pairs and up to 17 individuals. They defend a single territory and lay their eggs in one communal nest. All group members incubate the eggs and care for the young. One member of the group keeps watch on a high perch whilst the others forage. First broods stay with their natal group and help feed the second brood! Like feathered meerkats!!

This originally was to be part of my fears and phobias work and I actually took it almost my accident. But I think it has a very Bill Brandt feel about it! I think I might use this as a reference for my artist research. Very pleased with this (:

it's funny how many mushrooms have an almost smooth, plasticky/rubbery texture, unlike most other plants and ground debris.

This colorful painting is made by Paula Scher. This picture displays almost all the elements of design such as Line, Shape, Color, Value, and Texture. First of all, Paula Scher uses circular shapes in the form of words as well as dotted lines which is very prominent for this image. When I saw this colorful painting, my eyes swiftly focused their attention to the Overall, it feels like she's forcefully directing the audience or even feels like they are being sucked in to a specific area from her circular shapes that gradually decreases from big to small. Not just the shapes decrease in size but the font sizes too within the vortex pattern. It also has a pattern scheme with those pastel blue colored dotted hyphen like marks encasing the wall of text. Next, Scher implements color in words all over her work of art. The colors feel warm, retro, lively, and psychedelic. By retro, I imply that the colors displayed in this art reminds me of late sixties even the earlys eventies color palette used in cartoons, Woodstock posters, and psychedelic tie dye shirts. Moreover, the lines are a bit vauge for this art piece, however, it's present on the highways on the few continents on the art piece. For me, the highways represent lines because it directs me towards a vertical spot. Chiefly, the "Eye of the Tsunami" area on the northwest section. The texture of this painting feels raw, smooth, and wild. It's really expressionistic and joyful due to the variations of colors, variations of font size/style, different languages (words), in as much as the vortex pattern that add to the texture style as well as the value of this painting. With all those words circling around the painitng can also be interpreted as multiple cultures colliding in to each other in the eye of the storm.
