Some more impressions of my hiking tours last weekend, sun all day and relaxing moments along river Werre. Löhne, Ostwestfalen, Germany

The River Derwent at Bamford Mill.

While in Ontario, we went to an antique store, and Monique bought this old toy car, and we all took turns photographing it. I had so much fun putting it in different places and positions and wondered who played with it the first time...

Crotophaga ani (Smooth-billed Ani / Garrapatero)

The Smooth-billed Ani is a widespread resident of scrub and forest clearings from the Caribbean and Costa Rica south to Uruguay and northern Argentina; it also occurs in south Florida, although the population there has declined significantly there in recent years. Smooth-billed Anis live in small flocks and eat a variety of insects, small vertebrates and fruit.

Spring brings out the very best in Nature. Beauty becomes “Smooth” and it’s almost a shame the season isn’t at least twice as long as it is. I don’t ever get bored with beauty. Nature always produces an abundance of subjects to capture. Gratitude and Kindness are a part of our emotional response to Nature no matter the season.

This barn sitting in a wheat field reminds me of a ship at sea. A huge wave of earth approaching.

In Scott County Missouri.

A hooded merganser (Lophodytes cucullatus) drake on calm water. It was a treat for us to have this first sighting of this species. (They are not particularly rare - we just hadn't been looking in the right place and time.)

Hallstätter See Austria

Coastal reflections, a sea swell filled with ripples, sunlight and a calm pastel sea allows you to enjoy a relaxing seascape and a smooth passage.

This storm was preceded by spectacular altocumulus asperitas clouds. Some of the smooth structures are still visible in this photo as well.

The thunderstorm was a joy to behold and photograph.

Extra long exposure capturing the moments there as the day was ending in Middle River.

Happy New Year everyone. Perhaps you can tell from this post that I'm a little tired of the dreary, colorless winter we are having so far. 😢

Smooth blue aster (Symphyotrichum Laeve). I captured these at the start of the Red Rock Canyon in Waterton Lakes NP, known for its wide variety of wildflowers.

I really love this theme. HSoS!!
