Red Crested Pochard

A hooded merganser (Lophodytes cucullatus) drake on calm water. It was a treat for us to have this first sighting of this species. (They are not particularly rare - we just hadn't been looking in the right place and time.)

This barn sitting in a wheat field reminds me of a ship at sea. A huge wave of earth approaching.

Something Different, Its all fun / Never Box Yourself In

Reflection of the covered walkway on the north end of Oberer See in downtown Böblingen Germany. I waited a long time to get a shot where the lake was silky smooth and finally got my chance earlier this evening after going to dinner.

The smooth helmeted iguana is named for the prominent casque, or crest on the back of its head and neck which has the appearance of a helmet.
