Utra smooth white tuna topped with sesame oil and sweet citrus soy vinaigrette.
The light and savoury sesame oil-citrus dressing paired/complimented the white tuna a little better IMHO than the maguro version. Even the bit of chili in the dressing seemed a little hotter here (which was nicely contrasted by the cool tuna flesh). The tuna had a softer flesh, but less umami flavour than the firmer maguro and while different, was essentially the same thing. I found my palate a little bored after the third slice, it didn't help that both tuna preparations were identical, differing only in the type of tuna.
Meanwhile, our neighbouring table of three (who also had the omakase) were given these two tuna sashimi preparations but also a third, hamachi. My heart cried a little (read: a lot) when I saw what we missed. Our server reassured me that we had the better of the two, but... I *LURV* hamachi. :~( *sniff, sniff*
I'm so happy with my new friend the blender, the full abilities of which i still have to fathom. neat!

I tried out my new filter, and I have to say I really enjoy doing long exposure shots like these.. You will probably see plenty more of them in the future.
