Hills across Grasmere - dull light and a long exposure making for a brushed smooth silvery
appearance in both clouds and the water surface.
This is a rare bird (ABA Code 3) for North Florida for sure. It is usually found in the Caribbean or further south. I read reports of it being spotted on Little Talbot Island, Duval County, FL between beach trails 1 and 3. Sure enough, I arrived as soon as the park opened and walked down the trail towards the overhang/bathrooms. It was about 30 meters toward the beach atop a scrubby bush in the dunes. I took a few pics and to my surprise, it flew within 10 feet in front of me. It was overcast and terribly backlit. This was my second attempt this month to find it and was so rewarded.
Nothing special but a colourful sunset at the Humber Bridge in North Lincs, England. Other than minor sharpening this is a SOOC image.

Back in the early 90's the Aussie market became accustomed to Dr Pepper but ten years later it suddenly disappeared. Too much competition from Pepsi and Coke? Came across this 12 Fl Oz can of cherry Dr Pepper in a comic book shop so I was tempted to buy it just to have the can (and to take a photo). Looked nostalgic to me - hence the title on the photo.
After a full day spent in Etretat in France, I didn't want to spend the evening there to take pictures of those famous cliffs.
So we started to drive back to our hotel in DIeppe. During the journey, a road sign was giving a direction to a village named "Yport". I didn't know what to expect, but I was very curious.
So we arrived in this tiny village, and found a restaurant overlooking the beach, the sea and those cliffs.
We've just ordered, when a nice rainbow appeared. I then hurried to take a picture of it (this one, it was the golden hour).
PS : After we were done eating, the sky took nice colors, and I took some others pictures (you can find them in my photostream).

I went to Ft Desoto on this morning hoping for a cloudy sky, Well, I didn't get the sky I wanted but I did get so much more. As I was getting set up and prepared to make this shot. I heard dolphins exhaling through their blowholes but I couldn't see them. I could hear them jumping out of the water but I couldn't see the water splashing. They were so far away but I could hear them like they were very close by. It was so quiet, so serene, so still and so smooth. Just one of the many cool things about living here in Florida.
We saw this huge chunk of rather smooth iceberg the first day I arrived in Ilulissat. It looked really different among the other regular spiky ones and you won't miss it even from far away. This photo was taken at close when we took a boat trip later.

Taken while crossing the Atlantic Ocean on a small sailing cruise ship named Windstar. The trip from the Caribbean to Portugal took two weeks. We had smooth seas the whole time. This sunrise is so like a sunset that I have been dared to add it to some sunset groups.
The green colored folds look like a draped curtain, the evil spikes give away it is an Agave Americana.

1.) Well Mod Barbie Lover, How are you?
HOT! The bloody extreme Aussie weather is so getting to me! Everyone just sees our glorious sunshine and beaches, but it is RARELY like that over summer... more like oppressively hot, very humid and sticky, with massive thunderstorms every five minutes that wipe out whole suburbs! ( and no power/water etc!!!)
2.) What is the meaning behind your Flickr name?
Pretty self explanatory!
3.) Sexuality?
Yes PLEASE! LOL
4.) Decorating?
I aspire to clean-lined minimalism (Mickey Rourke's apartment in '9'1/2 weeks' was my dream apartment back in the 80's!) but the reality is more 'shabby chic'- approaching 'Grey Gardens' when I haven't cleaned in a while! (Though minus the wildlife... ewww!)
5.) Did doll collecting influence your life in any way?
ABSOLUTELY!!! Like most people who work in the fashion industry, Barbie was my first 'client' and my first connection to the fashion world, so she was a HUGE influence! Nowadays, my collecting is definitely a form of therapy, as it is with others, but I LOVE the research the most! (One of my first jobs was researcher and editorial assistant at a fashion magazine!)
6.) What does your family think about you as a doll collector?
They don't really know about it yet! Though my workmates do and they think it's really cool, actually!
7.) What might be your biggest fear?
Have TOO MANY to mention and can't rate them! LOL But probably dying alone tops my list.
8.) if you could meet anyone on earth, who would it be?
Yves Saint Laurent when he was young and happy... Christian Dior (just reading his autobiography - yes, he actually wrote one, which is amazing since he died so suddenly and at an age before designers usually write their memoirs!) and he seemed to be a sweet, humble, sensitive and very funny man! Coco Chanel because she would be SOOO entertaining... and I always REALLY get on with b****es! LOL... Nelson Mandela, though I would probably be way too intimidated to say anything!!! Oh and yes, Jon Hamm! OBVIOUSLY!!! hehehehehe
9.) Grab a book nearest to you, turn to page 23, read me line 17 (if it’s the start of a sentence, finish the sentence)
"Eventually I fled from the growing materials on the landing, and even found myself working on the steps of the staircase."
– Dior By Dior (talking about the preparation of his first collection that launched his famous 'New Look'.)
10.) What do you think about the most?
My next deadline, and what on EARTH am I gonna do for it... And of course my Barbie/Francie/Skipper/Christie/Stacey/ Ken etc. etc. addiction, my next purchase, and the next Barbie photo I will take!
11.) What does your latest text message from someone else say?
"Hey how R U today? Hot as HADES, Yah?" (A friend from work)
12.) Do you sleep with or without clothes on?
I wear Chanel No.5! (Not really, but I LOVE when Marilyn Monroe said that when asked what she wore to bed.)
13.) What is your strangest talent?
I can touch my nose with my tongue!!!
14.) Girls.... (finish the sentence); Boys.... (finish the sentence)
Girls... are for dressing
Boys... are for UNdressing! HA!
15.) Ever had a poem or song written about you?
Nope... but my high school buds used to mangle Michael Jackson's 'Smooth Criminal' and sing 'Eddi are you WALKING?' ... so does that count?
16.) When was the last time you played the air guitar?
I play no musical instruments, imaginary or otherwise . (Though I DID play the Tuba in a high school band when I was forced into it by the music teacher. I had chapped lips for months!)
17.) Do you have any strange phobias?
Driving. I learnt and everything, but I always think I will smash into a wall or pole or something... ( and had lots of accidents anyway!)
18.) Ever stuck a foreign object up your nose?
I think some straws at a party while at school... when I was drunk!
19.) Backpacks or satchels?
Backpacks in the 80's ( I had a GORGEOUS faux leather Prada rip-off one from the Gap that I wore to death) But now... DEFINITELY satchels!

Tall, thin, fit, tan, blonde bikini swimsuit model modeling Nikon D800 9shooter system with a Panasonic X900MK 3MOS 3D Full HD SD Camcorder with 32GB Internal Memory HC-X900MK.
The HC-X900MK camcorder rocks! It has image stabilization which makes for smooth video while shooting stills at the same time!
Pretty blonde swimsuit bikini model goddess modeling the Nikon D800-based 45WindSurfer!
Shooting photographic stills & video @ same time with Nikon D800 & 70-200 mm VR2 Nikkor Lens bracketed to a camcorder--the awsome Panasonic 3MOS 32GB Flash Memory HD Camcorder ! It shoots stabilized 60P video for super-smooth slow-mo when I slow it down in post!
I call it the 45WindSurfer Bracket, as you can catch video's constant wind and still photography's intermittent waves!
Just as windsurding was invented by combining two sports--surfing and sailing--so too was 45windsurfing born by combining two art forms!
When you get to work with pretty swimsuit bikni models, you want to make the most of everyone's time & shoot stills photography and motion pictures / video @ the same time!
