"And if you say this life ain't good enough
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
Cause you're so smooth"

I hope 2021 comes in as smooth as this picture is. It wasn't quite dark, but I took a series of pictures as the sun went down. This one was taken at f29 for 30 seconds with a 10-24mm wide angle lens.
These pair of birds from two different but related species showed up in Fort De Sotto to delight all birders. Very chill and indifferent to human gawkers.
Rare bird to Florida.
The Smooth-billed Ani is a tropical bird found nowhere in the U.S. but south Florida. This strange bird is in the same family as the roadrunners and cuckoos, most of which have long slender bodies and long tails.

A little further on the Dunkirk beach, it changes from a sandy coastline to a rocky coastline. The water was calm and smooth. I took some time to grab some long exposure shots of those not to big rocks.

Mandurah truly has the best kept secret beaches. It's amazing that you can be alone on a beach, unlike European beaches and even capital cities in Australia. We are so blessed.

Yellow smooth hawksbeard (Crepis capillaris) blossoms, in...
DeKalb County (Forrest Hills), Georgia, USA.
18 March 2021.
***************
▶ "The smooth hawksbeard, Crepis capillaris, is a species of annual, low, flowering plant, in the dandelion tribe (Cichorieae) within the sunflower/aster family (Asteraceae) and crepis genus. It is native to Europe but naturalized in Africa and North America (where it is regarded as a weed in some places).
Crepis capillaris is common in disturbed ground and open habitats, such as thin grassland, lawns, spoil heaps, rocky banks and on roadsides, the stems often trailing along the ground but sometimes erect, the leaves sometimes forming a rosette. It flowers from June to December in the Northern Hemisphere, producing an array of numerous small yellow flower heads.

▶ Note that it's only March here and hawksbeard is already blooming.

Asters are one of my favorite MN Wildflowers and their colors are just amazing. I think "Periwinkle" would be a fitting description here. Carver County, MN 09/05/20
While the jagged edges of the rocky outcrop known as Reynisdrangar proudly contrast with the surrounding smoothness, it doesn't take much to imagine that soon the eroding power of the North Atlantic Ocean will simply turn them back into fine material for this spectacular black sand beach.
