This is winter in the north of Russia, this is snow time, the period of slumber.
The picture from the small village close to the city, about -20 outside.

На болото опускались сумерки, погружая его в сон. Бесконечный ветер метет эту равнину. Он шепчет, пролетая над серыми соснами, как будто желает поделиться своими историями из далеких миров. С приходом ночи он тоже заснет и все погрузится в тишину. Мне тоже хотелось сбросить с себя сапоги и растянуться, избавиться от всех мыслей и погрузиться в объятия сна. Но, увы, впереди еще долгая дорога домой. Это мой завершающий болотную серию снимок. Я не думал о композиции, об объектах в кадре, а просто сделал снимок на память. Мне захотелось запомнить это состояние.
Dusk fell on the swamp, plunging him into sleep. An endless wind sweeps this plain. It whispers as it flies over the gray pines, as if it wants to share his stories from distant worlds. When night comes, it will fall asleep too and everything will be silent. I also wanted to take off my boots and stretch out, get rid of all thoughts and sink into the arms of sleep. But, alas, there was still a long road home ahead. This is my final photo of the swamp series. I didn’t think about the composition, about the objects in the frame, but simply took a photo for memory. I wanted to remember this feeling.
So they say you can't see the forest for the trees,well here are some morning autumn slumbers for your delight.
Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul...Darrell.

Sleep hygiene is a natural phenomenon, not a health product for consumption. So it's time I cleaned up my balancing act, lol.
Just a few of the hundreds of sea lions resting around the docks and breakwaters of Newport Oregon on 20 September, 2023.
We were blessed to see a couple of other colonies on our recent visit, but nothing like this! The near continuous barking emitted from so many made it difficult to have a conversation with friends on the pier above!
An abandoned and partially sunken boat lay beneath a tree, also waiting for life to return. I thought the bailing jug in the boat was a nice touch to the story as well. While they slumber, perhaps images of color cross their thoughts, similar to the distant landscape.
This too comes from the Garden Bay Area, while reflections help deliver an added touch to the scene

A healthy-looking Hawaiian monk seal came ashore, shoveled its face into the sand, and nodded off to sleep on a sandy beach for the remainder of the morning.
Endemic to Hawaii, this species of monk seal was established in the archipelago millions of years before the human populated main volcanic islands emerged above sea level. The original seal-occupied islands have since receded to coral atolls and are now part of Papahānaumokuākea. A recently updated survey estimate by NOAA indicates a small, but encouraging, population increase to 1,570 individuals throughout the Hawaiian archipelago; about 400 inhabiting the main islands. However, Hawaiian monk seals remain endangered and among the rarest of marine mammals.
A walk down my garden this cold January morning I was greeted with these lady bugs huddled together. Hoping they survive this cold winter ~ KissThePixel
Autumn is not only a colorful season. It is also a season of sleep and death.
The purpose of this simple shot was to render that subtle sense of sadness, mixed with torpor, that well characterizes this season. Thanks to the pale colors of a day fading away and the branches almost yearning to the moon.
