Now here's a surprise: I didn't know that the Dutch railways once used slip coaches, like employed on some lines in the UK.
Sign on display in the Dutch railway museum, Utrecht.
Some googling gives an article by N.J. van Wijck Jurriaanse, eminance grise of the Dutch bashers, notes that this particular slip coach, once a day to Hilversum, was timetabled between 1895 and 1904. slip sliding away,
slip sliding away
you know the nearer your destination,
the more you slip sliding away
whoah and I know a man, he came from my hometown
he wore his passion for his woman like a thorny crown
he said dolores, I live in fear
my love for you is so overpowering,
I'm afraid that I will disappear
we're workin' our jobs, collect our pay
believe were gliding down the highway,
when in fact we're slip sliding away ...

Noah was having nothing to do with it. Anthony would run fast then slow down right before he got to the slide. He never slid far enough to make it to the splash pool at the bottom. Brought back some fun memories for me of our Double Racing Slip and Slide which was bright yellow with a blue center spray. -0001

The building I work in, I'm pretty sure, is built right on top of the old Colt Slip, with Slip #1 right out the back door, and Slip #2 on the other side of the Condos built outside the back door...
