Slide Rock - Sedona, Arizona

a realistic representation of food made from stoneware and acrylic and acrylic paint, by evelyn, grade 11

Slide coping with a Lumix FZ1000 @ ISO125, F4 in Macro Zoom mode and a light box. Using the lens hood as a stand offers an ideal focal length for slides. The results are very acceptable and it is fast and cheap.

On New Year's Day I went for a wander around Wellington and discovered this rather different children's slide in the grounds of New Zealand's Parliament Buildings in Wellington. Very stylish I thought.

Duplication of 35 mm films using a Sony A7 body fitted to a Minolta Auto Bellow III and Minolta Slide Duplicator AB-III. Minolta lens MD Macro 50 mm f/3. at f/8. Tests with other standard Minolta Rokkor 50 mm lens were not satisfactory (focusing inhomogeneities in the corners of the images).

The film pictures were taken in Lyon, France, 2015, with a Minolta SRT101 and Minolta MC Rokkor-PF 58 mm f/1.4. Film Kodak Gold 200 color negative process C-41.

The processing of the picture include the RAW conversion in Aperture, the inversion the GIMP 2.8 following by auto correction of the white balance.

Pond Slider Turtle (Trachemys scripta), Sacramento River National Wildlife Refuge, Packer Unit, Glenn County, California - 12 May 2013. I found this turtle on the main trail, quite a ways from open water. I flipped it over to get the ventral image, but then flipped it back and released it. The apparent yellow markings on the head but plain carapace had me a bit confused as to the ID - thanks to Kenneth Bader from iNaturalist for the identification. I hadn't realized that the carapace markings could be so reduced in this species..

These slides doubled up randomly depict a father and son waiting in the dive boat for mom to come up last, that’s why they are peering out the window. She was using Nitrox and wanted to stay down as long as was safe( dive master was with her.) My wife and I came up way early. My wife is superimposed in the window probably checking her gauge revealing time to come up or something. My Ipad is a useful camera for these kinds of anomalies.

Promotional slide produced by Scott & Van Altena of 6 East 39th St., New York City, for the Educational Department of the De Laval Separator Company, probably in the 1920s.
