With piles of trash and deteriorating buildings, this slice of life shows just part of the sprawl of towns and cities.

The fabled floor that y'all seem to love
Evening sunlight and long shadows on the rotted superstructure of the tugboat Bascobel. There’s a walkway below those doors but it is completely submerged.
Note the bird poop spattered on the near door: If that’s from a roosting osprey, rather than something just flying past, the angle of impact would indicate “slicing.” That’s a neat trick whereby the osprey points its butt away from the nest and fires off a load of digested fish with considerable force, so that it lands some distance away.
In case you were wondering.
Three slices of onion stacked on top of each other, for #MacroMondays #Slices
Taken at 1:1 magnification. Outermost onion layer, visible in the bottom and middle slices, is maybe 4 mm thick.
For 'Smile on Saturday' theme of 'Dice Only'
Been a busy week for me so not much taking of photographs.
Happened to be in the local bargain store and saw the last of their 'dice' rubbers.
Couldn't resist it!
Couldn't resist getting out a sharp knife and doing some slicing either! And didn't slice my fingers!
So placed on a small stainless steel dish and lit with two lamps this is what I got - a very quickly taken 'one-off'.
Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Trioplan 2.9/50mm ....................... less than 2 inches
Polaroid Week 2021 - Spring/Summer - Day 3 #2
This scene can be anywhere, but the importance is it is life as we knew it and took for granted. Such a simple scene seem so distant in the last year.
Taken in Valencia 2017
Yesterday at the We're here group we danced like we did not know how. Today we are looking for seeds. For lunch I sliced a tomato and guess what ..... it's full of seeds.
Sliced tomatoes by Just Brothers was a dancefloor hit back in 1972. A few years back Naren Wilks and TakeSomeCrime produced a dance video on this track .
I whished I had seen this video yesterday, maybe it could have compensated for my pour dancing skills.
I am not a fan of the music.
I am not a fan of the dance.
But together it works thanks to some pretty tight video editing.
Felt like a colorful Oasis in the desert. Taken in a remote section of sierras when side lighting was at its best!
The morning clouds before sunrise were pretty cool and the dynamics with the long exposure and the riverbank slicing into the mirror. This LE was a bit over exposed, but able to recover enough with the the RAW file captured I think. Ideally could have been exposed about 1/3 less.
I’ve seen this done before and thought I’d take a crack at it. I just couldn’t believe all the different results I came up with simply by changing the lighting. This shot was the best I thought, utilizing forward lighting and from underneath the orange.
It was wonderful day and sky was all clear. Suddenly thousand bundle of clouds came and almost cover the sunset except the pier of the beach. It seemed to look like a slice of pier in between of a clear sky and its reflection on water.

The 2/22 Macro Mondays theme is Slices of Food.
Here are slices of potato, onion, red & green peppers, Italian sausage, all resting on a slice of rutabaga.
