Willem Vermandere is a famous and much celebrated Belgian Artist. My friend is a sculptor, singer-songwriter, musician, writer, poet and painter, but also a wonderful philosopher and raconteur.
We always enjoy a get together when we visit the Continent, this time no different!
Here, after a whole animated discussion about why we do what we do, how to do it well etc... we walked to the place where he's working, on a set of smaller works in CARRARA marble and we came back to our earlier conversation, about PASSION!!!

Anna Nalick performs a show as part of her 5-show Hotel Cafe residency in Hollywood.
This show was also the first time that her new album, Broken Doll & Odds & Ends, was available for purchase in physical CD format; she stayed long after the show's end to autograph the CDs.
For this show, Anna admitted that her hair came out quite badly. She made jokes about it, however, first a reference to the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland, and later a story about having her hair braided earlier and singing Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise" next to a friend's boyfriend watching TV.
Performing the opening number, "Shine," which had been released as an EP in 2008, and re-arranged for the new album.
John Connolly is a gutsy songwriter with a strong stage presence. He has received six PEI Music Awards, two ECMA Nominations and performed on stages across North America.
John recently served as Musical Director for The Opening Ceremonies of The Canada Games, produced Meaghan Blanchard's award-winning EP "Changing Things" and performed at the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.
In the spring of 2010, John collaborated with producer Brian Ahern (Emmylou Harris, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash) to record an acoustic album due out in September.

For October 2011, Anna Nalick booked three performances, including one in downtown San Diego, at Anthology. These shows were to introduce some brand-new songs Anna had just written, and to give her time to mingle with fans before her upcoming trip to France.
I decided to attend the San Diego show; although I had seen Anna sixteen times before, I had not seen her out-of-town.
This was a Halloween-themed show; Anna wore a costume she called "Marie Antoinette in underwear," while attendees were asked (via Facebook and Twitter) to come in a costume as well. (Yours truly sported a 1920s flapper look - and it was a suggestion from none other than Anna herself.)

'Have You Ever Been' is the single from Pennan Brae's debut release, 'Shaded Joy'. It was shot (bit.ly/oMeneM) in Kauai in May 2010 & directed by Douglas DeBoer of Visual Alchemy. Coming from Melbourne, Australia, by way of her current home Los Angeles, Katie Cole makes her first appearance in San Diego at Lestat's, a well-known coffee shop and performance venue in San Diego's Normal Heights neighborhood.
Seeing Katie made for a convenient excuse for a quick visit to San Diego for the evening. This was my ninth time seeing Katie, and it was every bit as enjoyable as all my previous experiences seeing her.
Katie's career is on an upswing - she had just landed a record contract, and gotten some public play of her new single "I Can't Wait" at New York City's Times Square.

Walk the Line Festival is a new two-day festival with national and international acts at different locations throughout the city centre of The Hague, the Netherlands. The festival has a wide ranging line-up from singer-songwriters to electronic music, as well as cross over styles such as rock, blues, Americana and soul.
