Anna Nalick's performance at her usual venue, Hotel Cafe in Hollywood.
This was, as usual for Anna, a very delightful show, if a bit short. A number of jokes during the set, including one concerning her high school days.
I am partial to Anna's sheer dress, which she had previously worn 6 months earlier. According to Anna, it is a vintage 1970s dress from her mother.
Closing out, as usual, with the well-known 2005 hit, "Breathe (2AM)."
For the final chorus, Anna often lets the crowd sing, the reason why the microphone is pointed at the audience. And for this particular night, yours truly sang enthusiastically - and Anna pointed the microphone at me for the outro! Anna even went on to introduce me, by my full name, as her "backup vocalist." (And how else do I get to hog a microphone at a legendary venue like the Hotel Cafe, even for a few seconds?) Thanks for another special memory, Anna!

Coming from Melbourne, Australia, by way of her current home Los Angeles, Katie Cole makes her first appearance in San Diego at Lestat's, a well-known coffee shop and performance venue in San Diego's Normal Heights neighborhood.
Seeing Katie made for a convenient excuse for a quick visit to San Diego for the evening. This was my ninth time seeing Katie, and it was every bit as enjoyable as all my previous experiences seeing her.
Katie's career is on an upswing - she had just landed a record contract, and gotten some public play of her new single "I Can't Wait" at New York City's Times Square.
