After finishing a long, busy Saturday in our bookshop, I walked across the road to our chums and neighbours at Thorne Records (where I buy most of my vinyl).
Rosie H Sullivan, who works in this fine, Indie record store was having a launch night for her new EP, Phases (you can see vinyl copies of her previous EP behind her - highly recommended, I have one in my collection).
Rosie is a terrific singer-songwriter, and I've been following her music for a while, and wanted to support this launch - it was terrific to see just how much support she had, in fact, as the store was packed with friends, family and a pile of the record store's regulars all along to support her, and enjoy listening to live versions of the songs from the EP.

While passing through Euston recently I stopped awhile to take this photograph and listen to the music.
From a website this talented singer is Joulie Fox .Joulie is a singer, songwriter and actress. who began playing the guitar and singing at the age of 10. She wrote her first songs and started to perform at local contests and events at thirteen.
She made her professional acting debut at the age of 17 as a Tv presenter and during studies she appeared in episode roles in television series.
In 2012 she performed in the semi-final of the 33 Stage Song Contest in Wroclaw and one year later she released her debut album , Special Nothing” nominated for the WARTO award of Gazeta Wyborcza.
She is currently a leader of Chilè, electro pop band based in London. Her sultry, unique singing voice and her ability to boldly turn any material that she confronted into her own music makes her a superstar. Joulie’ s music style ranges form Pop, Rock and Indie and includes songs by Amy Winehouse, Lykke Li, Ray Charles, Britney Spears, Chet Faker, Lana del Ray, Coldplay.
Stop and listen - it's worth the effort.

Aanchal Bordoloi, Singer-Songwriter playing Guitar at the Fete de la Musique in Alliance Francaise, Bengaluru.
She started singing in the school choir at the age of 8. Also took guitar lessons. Her formal singing journey started from Vienna. where she studied for 10 months under student cultural program. At the age of 16, she got the opportunity to be a member of The Vienna Songwriter Circle in Austria.
It is best to ride the snapping turtle of the music business than to be eaten by it. Am I right Music City singers and musicians?
Why is this strange image on the wall of a music recording studio, you ask. Well, I think this mural’s subtleties are meant for the music artists of Music City. I suspect this mural is actually an homage to a source of country music's roots, its very creation –i.e. African American country songs, instruments, spirituals, sounds, singers, musicians, and innovations— before those black roots were whited out of country music and forgotten.
On the other hand, the turtle reminds me of the major river waterways that historically have brought a hodge-podge of people to work, live, and sing in Nashville.

Got a lift from one of my festival mates from Ticehurst to Oxford, where I was seeing Courtney Marie Andrews again, at the SJ Arts venue - St John The Evangelist Church. Wonderful gig, with lots of new songs. Staying in Oxford until (early) Friday as I've got another gig on Thursday - Sierra Ferrell.
