I don't know who this guy was, he was singing. This is when my second battery said, "I'm done!" :)

On Wednesday evening, after the gorgeous sunset, a bunch of us went down the street to Campo de Fiori for pizza. This mellow band was playing, and one of the last songs was a plaintive song in French that was just gorgeous. The singer was really feeling it, as you can see.

I was psyched at the shot--the camera nailed it! I had the 30mm on, at f/1.6, ISO 800. I think it was on Auto WB, but that worked perfectly for the dim atmosphere.

Great concert from a scottish singer I've liked for years - and on another roasting hot day, very pleased the Sub Rooms in Stroud have aircon! (and yes, I did sing along to most of the songs!!)

I visited Nîmes when I was a University student in Western Canada and working the summer for friends who had bought an Auberge (country inn) in Gard, just outside this ancient southern city. I remembered it for it’s well-preserved Roman ruins, it’s cicadas, and its dry, shimmering heat - so it was great to go back many years later.
