Friend of mine saw this Singer treadle sitting in the pouring rain. She rescued it, loaded in her pick-up and put it at my front door. The wood cabinet was ruined; so I dismantled it.

John McCormack was regarded as probably the greatest Mozartian of the 20th century. In 2006 the United States Library of Congress declared John McCormack's recording of 'Il mio tesoro' from Mozart's 'Don Giovanni' one of the greatest records of the 20th century. In recognition of this accolade, the library has now archived the recording for posterity.
