Photographer Ryan Holden Singer has a very personal approach to photography. Through portraiture mixed with an anthropological quality to his work, Singer creates images that not only explore the honesty in his subjects but also presents a very real and personal perspective. At the age of 15 he had began working summers at various photo studios around NYC. Singer continued his education at The School Of Visual Arts, Obtaining his degrees in 1999. After finishing school he began photo assisting full time for some of the best shooters in NY paying his dues and cultivating his pedigree. Singer later followed his passion for photography to the continent of Africa where he lived amongst and documented the San Bushmen of the Kalihari and the Himba tribe of Namibia. These powerful images resulted in the Ryan Holden Singer collection consisting of 52 images contained in the Smithsonian Institutes National Museum of African Art in Washington DC. HE is a photographer who is able to get inside his subject matter taking the challenge of being personal with the person on the other side of the lens and the results are uncompromising and direct.

I found him on a ferry in potuakhali while we're on the way to kuakata. In our society we see many people begging for no reason really. They should learn something from this great man. Salute him.
I had GREAT time in Särkänniemi amusementpark today.. My favorite finnsih pop singer, Antti Tuisku had a little show there. I was lucky to be close to the stage!

Finished Singer block, I had embroidered the needle part of the machine...but then I remembered a fabric that I had and didn't use had a piece of the needle that just fit! I may take out the blanket stitch and redo...it looks a little messy.
