Singer Island is located on the Atlantic coast of Palm Beach County, Florida in the South Florida metropolitan area. Most of it is in the city of Riviera Beach, but the town of Palm Beach Shores occupies its southern tip. Its latitude of is 26.784 N and its longitude is -80.037 W. The easternmost point of Florida is located there in Palm Beach Shores. Singer Island is actually a peninsula and not an island. Before the Palm Beach Inlet was created, it was connected to the island of Palm Beach to the south.[1]
Named after Palm Beach developer Paris Singer, a son of Isaac Singer, the Singer Sewing Machine magnate, Singer Island has parks, marinas, hiking and bike paths, as well as 47 miles (75.6 km) of sparkling white sand beaches[2] that has been considered one of the top five beaches in Palm Beach County.
"La paternidad de la Singer le llegó a Isaac Merrit por casualidad. Fue el empresario (y a la postre su socio Edward Clark) quien, en 1850, puso en sus manos una torpe máquina de coser para que la perfeccionara. Un año después, reunía 40 dólares para registrar su invento; al poco, vendía su primera máquina por 100, y en 1858, el ambicioso Singer desarrollaba la primera máquina de coser doméstica. Sin embargo el éxito económico no llegó pronto. Los hogares norteamericanos le cerraron las puertas porque los maridos que eran quienes decidían en qué se gastaba el dinero no veían necesario invertir en una máquina extravagante, máxime cuando su mujer y su madre cosían la ropa gratis. Singer no cejó en su empeño de popularizar su criatura y, convertido en un showman, recorrió todo el país pedaleando en su máquina de coser y cantando las excelencias de la Singer.
Que en 1860 fuera ya el mayor fabricantes de máquinas de coser en el mundo, se debió, en gran parte, a su pericia como estratega de las ventas. De hecho, para muchos inventó el marketing. «Compre ahora y pague después», es una frase marca de la casa Singer.Isaac Merrit introdujo la financiación en cómodos plazos mensuales y la figura del vendedor que, armado de labia, visitaba a las posibles compradoras de puerta en puerta."

A retry of the Beatsteaks singer.
What I find pretty amazing is that as a reference I used an absolutely blurry still of one of the Beatsteaks videos where you would not even recognise the eyes or much other facial features.
You just see this open smile and the headshape. And I feel the similarity is a lot better than in my first try.
Which leads me to a trick that Tom Richmond freely gave on his nice blog as an advice to his students. If you have problems of finding the main features of a face for a caricature, pinch your eyes. The things you keep seeing are the main-features.
And let me tell you... I tried this guy at least three times before and could not get him right in any way.
Anyhow, a friend had the chance to meet the singer Arnim and told him I was trying caricatures of him. He gave her his email and said she should send it.
Now I am pretty excited about the reaction ;=)
