The Part of the main structure that is conected to the lid, is reinforced with a plastic insert for added stiffness. This is also where the leather loop and rear two pockets are. It really keeps everything from sagging.

The inside of the bag is bigger than It seems. I've loaded it up with lunch and all the tools and a couple of spare tubes and still had room for a vest. You can also over pack it by loosening the elastic closure. It's wrap around lid/cover helps to allow this.

Singer 404 sewing machine I recently found. It needed a lot of cleaning and oiling. Had to replace a couple of parts, it's sharing the bobbin case with the Singer 500A, and take a power cord from another machine to get it to work. Sews great now.

A lovely little sunkissed number!

In the middle of practice singing with other singer & musicians

Personally I won't put "singer" as a reflection of myself, as I never consider myself is a good one.

However I realize in many of my friend's eyes, I am a singer. It is a reflection of me in their eyes.

I love to sing, of course. However music is truly the main passion for me. Singing is only one of the expression of my love of music.

The Hutchinson Family Singers were an American family singing group who became the most popular American entertainers of the 1840s.

The group sang in four-part harmony a repertoire of political, social, comic, sentimental and dramatic works, and are considered by many to be the first uniquely American popular music performers.

John Hutchinson orchestrated the group's formation with his brothers Asa, Jesse, and Judson Hutchinson in 1840; the Hutchinsons gave their first performance on November 6 of that same year. Jesse Hutchinson quit the main group to write songs and manage their affairs; he was replaced by sister Abby Hutchinson.

The Hutchinsons were a hit with both audiences and critics, and they toured the United States. They popularized closed four-part harmony.

The group's material included controversial material promoting abolitionism, workers' rights, temperance, and women's rights. At the urging of Jesse Hutchinson, the group took up various causes. In December 1842, John Hutchinson signed a petition affiliated with an abolitionist rally in Milford. By the following year, the Hutchinsons had become vocal abolitionists. Asa Hutchinson wrote, "About this time [1843] an antislavery convention was held in Milford attended by Wm. Lloyd Garrison. . . . The custom at once enlisted the sympathies of the young men. Accustomed to roam at freedom among their own Hills, they abhorred slavery and pitied the slave. More than this they nobly resolved to exert their influence on behalf of the captives. To this end they prepared and sang antislavery songs."

They traveled with Frederick Douglass in England in 1845 and stayed for almost a year.

Original songs such as "Get Off the Track!", "Right over Wrong", and "The Slave's Appeal" addressed these issues. Abby Hutchinson wrote "Song of Our Mountain Home" in 1850. It includes the line, "Among our free hills are true hearts and brave, / The air of our mountains ne'er breathed on a slave."

The group, known colloquially as the 'Tribe of Jesse' was still quite popular at the onset of the Civil War, by which time they had split into two ensembles, the 'Tribe of John' and the 'Tribe of Asa' both ensembles continued to bill themselves as the Hutchinson Family.

The 'Tribe of Asa' relocated to the western part of the United States, performing in, among other places, Minnesota and Wisconsin; the "Tribe of John' stayed primarily in the eastern part of the country, and began to perform in and around the camps of the Union Army with the onset of the war.

Judson committed suicide by hanging himself in 1859, in the cellar of John's home known as the "Daisy Cottage".

Notice the thread lays across the left edge of the bobbin after you pull up the thread. If your bobbin thread is not like this your stitches will appear as if you have tension problems or you may get thread bunches (nesting) under your fabric. After you load the bobbin, hold your finger on it to keep it from turning while you follow the bobbin threading path. This helps make sure the thread 'enters' the thread guide directly in the front of the bobbin in the bobbin case area. This is how the thread should look for all 'drop in' bobbin sewing machines!!! Singer made a great sewing machine with the Superb but they failed to put this important info in the instruction manual. I'm positve it's the reason this machine has gotten a few negative reviews saying they have tension problems.

A Kirtan Singer performing in front of the idols and the chariot at the fair ground during 'Rath Yatra' festival

Kirtan (devotional singing) is a spiritual practice coming from India, particularly Bengal. Literally translated as “celebrating, praising, glorifying”. Kirtan is not about artistic achievement and perfection but rather about reaching a meditative or ecstatic state of mind.

Kirtan is generally practiced as call-and-response – a lead singer chanting a line which then is repeated by the rest of the group. The songs as such are mostly relatively simply structured and repetitive, usually starting slowly and then building in pace and intensity. Kirtans are usually sung in groups.

The 'Rath Yatra' or Festival of Chariots is one of the greatest festivals annually observed all over India. The festival, however, originated in Jagannath Puri on the eastern coast of the state of Orissa, India. The festival is associated with Lord Jagannath and commemorates his annual journey to his aunt's residence along with his brother and sister.

The symbolic movement of the chariot of Jagannath is celebrated with much fanfare. The idols are brought back after a week in the chariot in the festival of 'Ulto Ratha' (reversed Ratha). The week is synonymous with numerous fairs ('Rather Mela').
