Zeiss 85/1.4 Otus

Yesterday I had time to reflect and was thinking that sometimes we take for granted the very same things we should be most grateful for. At times we find ourselves so busy rushing around, juggling different tasks simultaneously, typing on keyboards (like I am doing right now) instead of talking to each other in person.

Being grateful is not convincing yourself that everything's great, as sometimes life throws challenges at us. Being grateful is choosing to focus your attention on what you care most and appreciate. Such as, being outdoors and enjoying the sun setting down (I’ve yet to experience a sunrise) on a rural scenery not far from home.

So simple, and yet so beautiful.

shot hand held, the light is from a near by window on an overcast day.. which are many this time of year!!

I sometimes find that the most dynamic shots are those where the elements within are kept to their most simplistic.

Sometimes, only sometimes, i guess that simplicity is pairless. No need for gigantic edition, nor photoshop features, a simple shot it is what it is.

My dear friends, thank you for visiting. I apologise for the slow response to your invites... busy...

I'm not religious but the simplicity of this image moved me.

A simple tool for one job, starting a charcoal fire for grilling. This is a chimney starter, which is simply a metal tube with a wire mesh cone inside pointing toward the top. The cone provides a place to put crumpled up paper, and then the tube is filled with charcoal, and the paper is lit. Because it acts like a chimney the heat and flame are pulled upward, and the charcoal is lit. It took a few words to describe this, but it is ingeniously simple. and it works better than lighting the fire by use of lighter fluid. For 121 Pictures in 2021 #88 "Simplicity".

Manifest plainness,

Embrace simplicity,

Reduce selfishness,

Have few desires.

As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler; solitude will not be solitude, poverty will not be poverty, nor weakness weakness.

Possessions, outward success, publicity, luxury - to me these have always been contemptible. I believe that a simple and unassuming manner of life is best for everyone, best for both the body and the mind.

I love the simplicity of this composition and how my eye travels down to the tip of the arching leaf. Inside the bulb of the glass vase one can see the balcony railing outside the window.

I like how in Winter you can see the bone structure of the landscape, the loneliness and dead feeling of it. It has a simplicity and a deep moral feeling where you can savor being by yourself.

I took this shot at Robinwood lake in the afternoon when the snow was already starting to melt and snows accompanying ner'do well cousin Slush was the order of the day. Nonetheless I liked the geese footprints and the light was good.

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday and thanks for your friendship it means a lot to me. :-)))
