I am about to jump headlong into processing a bunch of Vegas glitz pictures via HDR. But before diving into that neon debauchery I thought I would balance it out with some images based on simplicity.

This is my best example of simplicity. I really like the color of the shoes and the white background, and how the shoes are a little dirty and used. To create contrast my image, i lowered the exposure and contrast. I sharped the image so you can see the creases and the texture of the laces. I added a little saturation to give it more color. The vibe i was trying to create, was a childhood nostalgic, movie vibe.

If I don't move at all it almost kinda looks ok.
Simplicity 4032
I really liked the idea of this pattern. It's nice to have something that's easy to care for, made of fleece but doesn't look like you just walked out of the gym. The pattern has 4 jacket versions and a (rather hideous) vest option. I've never sewn with fleece before so I bought some less expensive mint colored fleece and a slightly more expensive fleece in a deep plum shade. My plan was to sew my second choice jacket designs with the green to get my feet wet with fleece, before cutting into the purple fabric.
I don't hate the end result but it's definitely not as nicely designed as I would have liked. My biggest issues are that it's just plain fussy to put on, the collar is a single, unfaced layer and rolls if it's not laying just so, the little accent bow does the same thing. The inner facings are all over the place. You really have to put it on and check that everything is in order instead of just tossing the jacket on and going.
My other issue is that the cross back measurement is too wide for my taste, by probably a full 2"/5cm. Jackets are generally cut like this to give room for layering, but I'm a hussy and wear mostly slim fitting clothing. On me, the shoulder seams fall off my shoulders and the look is a little sloppy.
The other thing to be aware of, which has more to do with my crappy skills than the pattern, is you really need to know which seams will be unfinished in the final product so you don’t cut those edges like you were a few sheets to the wind before you started. Fleece isn’t very forgiving in that sense.
I may still sew the other version of this jacket that I like a little better. If I do, I'll narrow the front and back pieces, mid shoulder (so I don't have to monkey with the fit of the collar or sleeves) and I may find a better way to keep the inner facings in line. I'm not an expert enough seamstress to go too crazy with mods but I think the pattern is salvageable.

Another take at Simplicity 2596, this time, I made View B.
The fabric is a very thin fabric with dots of fabric tufts on it. Is this known as Swiss Dots?
I wore it to work for casual Friday and nobody had any idea I made it myself (if yes, they were polite not to ask me about it)! Excuse the creases, it is afterall, after a day's wear :).
kroj nazvan simplicity u nedostatku boljeg naziva, otvoren uložak je nalik na bombončić, ali je iz jednog dijela; waterproofing je poliester flis, a dužine su regular 21cm, long 24cm i XL od 26cm

Misses' and Women's Blouse
This blouse has an underarm gusset and tiny puffed sleeves. In Styles I and III, ribbon is drawn through the neckline casing and elastic through the sleeve casing. In Style II, embroidered edging at the sleeve and neck edges serves as casing. The blouse may be worn off the shoulders. Top-stitched braid trims Style III.
Notions -- Style I, II and III: 2 spools of thread.
Pattern: Simplicity 2360 (sleeveless with flounce)
Fabric: Navy Hanataba from Tessuti Melbourne & Tomato fabrics in Nippori (Tokyo)
Alterations: Instead of a belt, stitched casing down to skirt to form a "waistband". Will also lengthen bodice next time.
The A-Line dress has a slightly lowered square front neckline and back zipper. Views 1 & 2 have patch pockets. Sleeveless View 1 has a two-piece collar. Veiws 2&3 have short set-in puff sleeves with elastic casings. View 1 & 3 are regular length. View 2 is above knee-length. View 3 has lace edging trim. The pattern includes a tissue lesson-chart on "How to Finish Hems". This is a "How to Sew Pattern".
