I think I once owned this, or one very similar to it. My mother used it to make me a Civil War reenacting blouse.

I made the wrap version, with the short sleeves and the belt.
The fabric is a cotton voile from Westminster Fibers, in a colorway that is ideal for someone with three black and white dogs.
I thought the fabric would be too sheer to wear without a slip or lining but it turns it's absolutely fine without, which is great. This a perfect summer dress.
This is Simplicity 3835, made with a Joel Dewberry quilting cotton print. Blogged here: stitchparade.com/the-sunshine-coast-dress/
This cute "V" shaped neckline on this Fab jumper is such a great classic styling! This pattern includes the jumper and the cut dart-fitted blouse with a high neckline, set-in sleeves and front button closing, that can be made with a collar with pointed ends or collarless. The jumper can be belted or sashed with a self-fabric tie. The large pockets on the front of the jumper are just too cute!

Simplicity: And as we spent those last few moments of summer, looking out at the blending of sea and sky, I realized it was a color I knew very well. The softly faded, essential blue of a well worn pair of pants ... my favorite pair of soft, baggy jeans.
I just noticed the reduced price. A Depression sales trick, maybe?
That peach-colored dress with the striped trim is wicked.
Do I need to say anything? Look at this!
I've no idea how one sits down in it, but with that sort of design, does one WANT to sit down?
At first glance, it was simply a mess. On second thought, it was beautiful. I don't typically love chalk spilled all over the patio, but it had kept my son occupied for over an hour. It's funny how much we spend on complicated toys and video games to keep them entertained, when sometimes all they really need is the inexpensive package of chalk. Simple.
Simplicity 6195, copyright 1965. A very Jackie O/Mary Tyler Moore kind of dress. I really like the sleek lines.
Simplicity 2209 made up in white pique and a navy rose print pique. More information and construction details can be found on my blog, Idle Fancy.
