Simplicity 1401; ©1945; Teen-Age Jumper and Blouse: The button-front jumper features a square neckline, armhole bands and skirt pockets. A slim inset belt joins the dart-fitted bodice and soft skirt, styled with front gathers . The blouse has a high drawstring neckline and the sleeves may be short or long and gathered to a wrist band. In Style I, the jumper armbands are scalloped.
Simplicity 2706.
Sewed this for my trip to Japan as is warm there, & I don't have many summer tops. Not sure about this one..makes me look very broad, though I'm sure the sleeves will settle down!?

I made the wrap version, with the short sleeves and the belt.
The fabric is a cotton voile from Westminster Fibers, in a colorway that is ideal for someone with three black and white dogs.
I thought the fabric would be too sheer to wear without a slip or lining but it turns it's absolutely fine without, which is great. This a perfect summer dress.
Canonet 28. Simplicity and style.
I always ask about a camera's history. The only thing the seller could tell me, was that it belonged to a journalist.
There was still film inside, so I'll develop that, but it needs a PX625 1,35V for proper metering. Now it shoots at 1/30s.

This is Simplicity 2584 - View B, without the neckline applique. I've used the beautiful Zin Berry Red linen from Tessuti - I bought mine online and it's still available here

This skirt started off as a McCall's 5430 wrap skirt but the waist band looked awful (due to beginner sewer error I'm sure!) . I salvaged the bottom half of that skirt to make this skirt. I tried putting in an invisible zipper but after many failed tries to get that right, I decided to just go with an elastic waist. This pattern was easy (other than the zipper part- again, due to beginner error). I like the dark denim I used but I think the skirt looks too plain as is. I'm still trying to figure out how to add some interest or embellishment.
This photo displayed the largest amount of simplicity out of the ones that I took. I really like there is golden light on the spire that contrasts with the shadows on the opposing side of it, none of my other photos were able to show the contrasting light as well as this one. In light room I slid the shadow slider left, Significantly raised the temperature, increased vibrance and decreased saturation, and slid de-haze to the right. I was trying to create a warm happy mood.
Simplicity 2892 with Horner voile. This is the third thing I've made this month for me, so I'm very proud of myself. This will be my shirt for the 4th of July since I think it looks like fireworks. :)

My house is called "Simplicity Cottage," and it's located in the middle of some peaceful woods. I've really been working towards having less physical stuff in my life, so I only used the contents in my wallet that made me feel at peace. This included a Westchester Parks ID card, the college ID where I met my husband, the library card where I read with my daughter, and some floral stamps. What's more telling is what didn't make it: money, my business cards, credit cards, insurance cards, MTA cards - all the elements of my life that keep me moving somewhat faster than I'd probably like to be.
First pic is cottage, second shows all the other stuff...
