“As I have practiced it, photography produces pleasure by simplicity. I see something special and show it to the camera. A picture is produced. The moment is held until someone sees it. Then it is theirs.” ~ Sam Abell

To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter... to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life. ~John Burroughs
Noble..... After reading the above quote, I can't help but think of our conversation yesterday.... that words fall short and are never quite enough to describe the beauty that surrounds us. Sometimes, all we can do is stand silently and gaze in awe.
The poppy pods at Kew Garden were beautiful. I liked the different green tones and textures. The poppy pod behind adds interest to this composition. I like its simplicity.
A shot from Vesterøy in Hvaler, Norway. Was looking for a minimalistic, colorful scene and I found this old rusted metal square and I had my shot. Shot with a 10 stop Hitech Firecrest filter and my Sony A7R :)

If I were using watercolors, this is how I would want my painting to look. I wanted to capture the softness and rolling beauty of the colors and forms in the Palouse. I had no paints or brushes . . . only my camera.

Nature teaches us simplicity and contentment, because in its presence we realize we need very little to be happy.

Life you had, is the life we have
The time you were, is the time we are
Simplicity of life which we are enjoying, is what you lost.

The weather was bad and still raining. The black clouds and the trees make the ambient light very low. Although I have already push the ISO to 1,000 and f/stop to 6.3 for acceptable sharpness; yet the shutter speed still needed 1/80 sec. The slow shutter speed would make the leaves a little bit blurry. There were fairy big trees that had changing colour leaves gave the image foliage mode. Unlike other autumn images that usually give brilliant and bright fall colour, this one just was an opposite feel in such low contrast lighting condition.
