I was delighted when the May Card Kit from @simonsaysstamp arrived filled with gorgeous PinkFresh goodies. I used minimal supplies with the patterned papers and puffy stickers to create two cards, a lined envelope and a gift card holder and I could have carried on as there was still lots left of the papers and stickers never mind the rest of the kit 😃👍

I adore painting of all descriptions! Traditional watercolour, gouache and I've even started exploring acrylics recently in my sketchbook where I play with new ideas. More to follow on that another day I'm sure! For today, I have two cards using Gouache and watercolours mixed to give a colour palette inspired by current home decor trends. I love those warm terracotta and ochre colours!

My took on this week card is a holiday one. Made the background with Tim Holtz stencil, embossing paste and sparkling embossing powder. DIY chipboard from SSS die. Holly branch stamped on vellum. And sequins as berries.

I used the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Tulip collage background die for this card which I'm entering into the current SSS Flickr challenge where the theme is 'spring fling'!
This card turned out very soft and pretty in person, and that yellow just wanted to be luminous on camera!
The background was masked and then stamped and heat embossed before Squeezed Lemonade and Scattered Straw Distress inks were used on it. I added a few gold sequins to complete the light, clean, airy feel the card has.

We want to get the most we can out of the supplies we buy, and a good stencil has to be up the top of the versatility rankings! They are inexpensive and there are so many techniques you can use a stencil for. Today, before painting, I used the stencil as a template and traced the shapes with a watercolour pencil 😃

Today I’am showing you a Christmas card I made using this amazing “Holiday Words Background” from @simonsaysstamp and the “Chunky Merry” also from @simonsaysstamp and designed by the amazing @czdesign .
For the background I used some @pinkfreshstudio inks and Gold Embossing Powder from @wowembossing .

The balloons are made using inlaid die-cutting technique. Boy, my big-shot had to work hard for it. I think I run it like 50 times to create this card :) But this was worth it.
And the sentiment - DIY chipboard. 2 pieces of grey cardstock (the same as the card front panel) and one piece on white on the top was glued together. It so easy to do and make the sentiment pop more, also adding some kind of shadow.
