My take on Kristina Werner's Bokeh holiday background. I used the Lots of Snowflakes stamps by Simon Says Stamp, together their Winter die. I'm entering this into the current SSS Flickr challenge - anything goes.

A card for the current SSS flickr challenge to create something around the theme of new. My new are the dies that I used that coordinate with the Sketch Ranunculus stamp set. My other new product is Broken China Distress Oxide ink. I used that to create my background. After inking up my cardstock I flicked on water to create the background. Watercolored the flowers and other bits with my ZIGs and then die cut them with the matching dies. The sentiment is from the SSS set Rejoice! The word "Easter" was die cut from vellum three times, adhered together and then adhered as you see. Added some sparkling clear sequins for a little sparkle.

I used New stamps sets from Simon Says Stamps, which are "Mod Flower Background" cling stamp and "Spring Seeds" clear stamps with cordinating dies

Finally got something made for the current SSS flickr challenge. my something new is the fun SSS die Tickle Breeze. When I saw that die I just had to have and seriously isn't that name too fun??? Anyway... I had an idea of how I wanted to use it but the holidays arrived and my crafting time departed. Got a chance the other day to put my idea on cardstock! I used a lot of different Distress Oxide inks on this one. I first added multiple colors using Q-tips (Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick, and I forgot the rest, lol!). Then I blended on Broken China, Salty Ocean and Black Soot. As I was adding in the colors I was afraid that I had made a mess, but I continued on!! I die cut the Tickle Breeze twice, from the panel, backed it with silver cardstock and then splattered on white acrylic paint mixed with water. When I finished I asked my resident expert on the milky way (my 11 year old son!) if mine looked like the milky way and he said "yes!"!! Mission accomplished!! The you and stars were embossed in silver on vellum and the sentiment in silver on black. Trimmed out the stars and the you, adhered everything and I was done! Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to explain (somewhat) my process.

I didn’t know what to do with this simple background I made a few weeks ago with white textured paste on Sea Glass cardstock until @simonsaysstamp December kit arrived, and I thought it went well with the red, white and slate palette of the patterned papers. Not to mention that gnome die! He’s so cute. For the chalky effect on the letters, I filled them in with a white Prismacolor pencil. I’m entering this card in Simon’s Flickr challenge.

I got inky with @simonsaysstamp August 2017 card kit. I used the MISTI for stamp alignment and Distress Oxide inks (love how solidly they stamp). I added a few of the puffy stickers included in the kit. Entering this card into both the @simonsaysstamp Wednesday and Flickr challenges (better late than never 😂).

Let’s face it; creating cards for guys can be tough. With my husband in mind, it has to say ‘happy birthday’ on it otherwise it’s not a birthday card – no fancy greetings LOL. And talking generalities, also clean and simple seems to work well, no bells and whistles just a simple, straightforward card! I'm hoping this little botanical watercolour fits the bill for a friend who is spending more time in his garden since retiring 🌿
