I love to create watercolour splodges! Whenever I'm starting a new watercolour, I always test out the colours on scrap pieces of card. You'll often see these swatches in my photos as I like to include a little of the evolution of the finished card. The watery pools of colour are so attractive to me, and that is the origin of this card.

When time is short in the summer, a watercolour print is a perfect solution to snatched 5 minutes of creative time in between day trips and having fun outdoors. Not only that, but they are so portable if you want to take your supplies on the road with you. Inspired by Shari Carroll's CAS cards. Loved her soft blues and greens so used those. The trees were stamped and coloured with Distress Inks. I coloured the baubles with a Sukura Glitter Pen. I made the little blue stared piece of card by stamping and white embossing a Simon Says Stamp border and did a resist technique using some Broken China distress stain. The green is a scrap of PP. Finished with some blue, green and white bakers twine and some green and blue sequins

SSS Flickr Challenge #101 Postcard-themed card using Simon Says Stamp's bikini die

Simon Says Stamp was so kind and sent me the Big For You die that was released as part of their DIEcember release. I created this card with the die and the SSS Center Cut Flowers stamp. I colored the flowers with four shades of cool gray Polychromos color pencils. The leaves and flower centers were colored with Prismacolor pencils. Die cut the words from the center and then four more times from white cardstock. All the words were inlaid into space finishing with the words die cut from the image. It was tedious, but I think very worth it!
