I created this card for Day 1 of the Online Card Classes Background Check. I used a technique that has quickly become one of my favorites - Ink blending and using a stencil and baby wipe to "bleach" the ink away. So much fun! I'm adding this to the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge 24. Simon products used are Sending die, Best Fishes Stamp set, and Waves stencil.

You may have seen this sweet guy a while ago when I coloured him while travelling. Gosh, that seems an age ago now. Hopefully, one day soon we can travel to see family again. It's a scary time for sure. I hope you are all safe, well and staying inside if at all possible. So much of life as we know it has changed and I want to reach out and just say hello, friend ❤️ Although we cannot meet friends and family at present there are still so many other ways to connect - a phone call, video call, email, text, message, social media and of course one of my favourites - snail mail!

Wanted to try using the same paper for different parts of the card. It seemed to merge in one dark-blue spot but using embossing (cold and hot ones) I got them looking differently. Used wrinkle-free technique to create the central round element. The only thing that I hadn't had distress inks in colors I need so used ColorBox ones. Even being pigment ones they are water-based to work for this technique as well (you don't need to run to a craft-store to purchase distress ink). Then I applied a bit of ink directly to the paper in the spots I wanted to make color more deep.

my card for the current SSS flickr challenge of anything goes. I used the SSS set Artful Flowers and the matching dies for the flowers and the sentiment came from the SSS set sparkle & shine. I die cut the flowers and then colored them with Ranger Distress Oxide ink in worn lipstick. Sprinkled on some water and then stamped the outline flower images from the set using regular Ranger worn lipstick distress ink. The leaves and stems were die cut and then inked with Ranger Distress Oxide ink in peeled paint and sprinkled with water. I inked up a piece of woodgrain cardstock with Ranger Distress Oxide ink in broken china and then sprinkled with water. sentiment was stamped in watermark ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Adding this to the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of a touch of pink.
