Nevada Northern Consolidation 2-8-0 #93 and 4-6-0 Ten-Wheeler #40 simmer in the Engine House at the end of the day as the coal stove keeps the room warm with a hot fire. The two engines will have a bed of coal in their fireboxes to keep the engines warm overnight as they simmer unattended awaiting the next day’s adventures. The Nevada Northern Railway truly is a time capsule. This scene could easily be from 100 years ago with these two machines just coming into the Engine House. The lights would be turned off and the shop locked up after a hard day’s work.

Simmering storm clouds loomed on the horizon at the height of the Indian Monsoon. I lost track of time gazing at them; it was one of the most dramatic cloud covers I’ve ever witnessed.

"The art of being wise is the art of knowing what to overlook." - William James

------

A standard Saturday around the house. Started out with the usual breakfast and then groceries and a couple other errands before coming home and starting on the house work while keeping an eye on the neighbourhood animals, the squirrels and birds hoping that I could get a shot in at some point.

Managed to get a shot of this guy, I'm not entirely sure what type of bird he is but it's rare to see him alone. Usually there's a large jittery flock of these guys flying around and disperse as soon as some one comes near. I think he was just flying ahead to scope out my yard (the squirrels knocked down the bird feeder and there's seed all over the place now.) and was waiting for his crew to show up.

Hope everyone has had a good day.
