Signals for East bounds At Gare Beaconsfield

Old railway signal Near High Marnham Lincoln

I'm in St. John's for work. I love it here. But I don't have my editing computer with me, so this probably looks wonky.

Thanks to Anna Kate Newman for the quick trip up the hill, and the photo.

5 shots, merged with Hugin.

Though (Thru) signal 4-Section used at the intersection of Green and Violet St. Birds had knocked off the visors on the lower two sections and messed up the sign so crews will be out to replace the sign. The sign DID say "T(h)ru Signal" but those birds broke the button copy "h" and turned it into a "u". Birds in Cucamonga are not stupid and tend to get on the signal crews nerves.

A signal warning about wearing heels in the mountains. It looks obvious but sometimes you see very strange things.

There's always a signal, if you know where to look.. and how to look.

I installed my new rear signals. Not sure how I am going to reroute the wires yet. You can see I am stripping the paint off too, to get ready for new paint.

Haslemere Fringe Festival 1 July 2016

Just minutes before the scene had been quiet. The lonely signal box perched on the straight stretch of country railway track, the sound of birdsong and a gentle breeze swishing the long grass. Slowly the metallic hum and the ringing of the rusty tracks indicated the approach of a train. Swelling in volume the tracks screeched and rattled...just seconds now. In the signal box, his hands resting on the controls, Henry Crabtree stared expectantly through the dirty glass. He'd had a bad day...it was about to get worse. The packed 5.55 and the 6.15 commuter trains instead of passing each other met head on at full speed. The apocalyptic shock wave as 180 tons of metal, glass and humanity collided with it mirror image at a combined speed of 180 miles an hour destroyed the signal box instantly. The initial devastating concussion replaced a split second later by the screaming of tearing metal and shattering glass...the incident was heard miles away in the village. Curious customers at the pub congregated in the beer garden discussing what it could be. As the sound subsided, the mass pile of tangled destruction settled...the sound of the swishing grass returned...the birdsong replaced with cries and moans.
