I stopped by the Amtrak depot in Beaumont, Texas while I was working there for a few days, and noticed a green signal on the dwarf. A few minutes later a BNSF Oil Train appeared. This is at CP LF980.

Philips Park Junction signal box was a The Railway Signal Company Limited standard design fitted with a 64 lever The Railway Signal Company Limited Tappet opened for the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Company on 12th July 1889. The signal box was renamed Philips Park No2 in 1924, at some time the lever frame was reduced to 30 levers and the bridge over Hulme Hall Lane was widened in 1994 requiring the signal box steps to be moved from the opposite end of the signal box. It was closed on 4th August 1998 but was used as a points frame within an engineers T3 possession until demolished on 14th August 1998

The signal box carried a locally name nameboard

Older Eagle traffic signals along TX 7 at TX 6 Business in Marlin, Texas. This is somewhat of an anomaly since most Texas signals are pole-mounted horizontal signals

A great signal generator that can be had for a very reasonable price. Thousands of these were made and many found their way to Canadian high schools as part of the electronics program. Also available in the Starkit name could be purchased in kit form and assembled by the end user. This is my everyday signal generator.

Also slotted with Chapel Road CR2 signal. Chapel Road crossing is just visible under the bridge. Also visible are a couple of new signals awaiting the resignalling in early 2019.

Lochmuir signal box was situated at the highest point on the main line between the Forth and Tay bridges at the summit of the climb from Markinch in the south and Ladybank in the north. It controled a passing loop and crossovers. The box was closed a few weeks after this photo was taken.

It was a beautiful day for a hike along the East Coast Trail. This view of Signal Hill was taken from a point between Freshwater Bay and Blackhead. The entrance to Signal Hill and St. John's harbour, in the distance, is several miles away from where this photo was taken.

With the sky a brilliant blue above the thin cloud layer in this shot, was able to get some vibrant colours using the polarizing filter.

I finally got around to painting the signal cabin, window surrounds and railings in readiness for a return to a re-vamped 'Braeside'

in the 70s, there was no PVs. when 3M 131 came in, they were the first high visibility signals installed on our streets.

As part of my growing railway layout, I am building a station complete with signal box.

Signals control traffic for both cars and cyclists.

The eastbound home signals at CP Howells Junction on the Metro-North Southern Tier. Formerly the split between the Erie's Main and Graham lines, this now serves as the eastern end of the 24,182 ft siding between here and CP OV in Otisville. The only remnant of the former passenger Main Line are the mileposts, which change from the Graham Line 76.6JS to the former Main Line's 69.1SR and up.

With the signal upgrades taking place on this line, this rare remaining Erie-era signal cantilever is slated to come down in a few short days.

This includes left and right turn arrows, tram signals and one for cyclists who normally ignore traffic signals anyhow.

How could I resist not taking a photo of the loop from a new vantage point and then not sharing it.

Oddingley signal box, which is believed to date back to 1908 and situated between Stoke Works and Abbotswood Junctions on the main Birmingham to Bristol main-line, is one of the few surviving relics of a by-gone age on this route. It, too, will soon be discarded into history as it is due to close once the Bromsgrove re-signalling scheme becomes live. This was scheduled for between August and November 2015, but a later date is now likely, which means that this superb example of Midland Railway architecture will survive for a few months more. Nowadays it controls just the level crossing on Church Lane, which is approached from Oddingley village by a narrow hump-back canal bridge. The crossing keeper operates the gates by a key which interacts with the signalling centre at Gloucester which controls the route at this point. On 30th may a Cross Country Class 221 'Super Voyager' approaches with 1M93 1355 Paignton-Manchester Piccadilly. Copyright John Whitehouse - all rights reserved

Since there is no signalbox at East Grinstead the Kingscote signalman can release a token by pressing the plunger. The galvanometer needle mooves to show that a token can be removed.
