A large scale shuttle bus operation was put in place for BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2026 at Herrington Country Park, Sunderland, with official travel partner Big Green Coach drafting in operators from across the North East and beyond to move thousands of festivalgoers across the weekend.
Shuttle services operated continuously between Heworth Metro Station, Park Lane Interchange and Durham Belmont Park & Ride to the event site from early morning until late evening.
The operation consisted of approximately:
• 30 vehicles from Go North East
• 25 vehicles from JH Coaches
• 15 vehicles from DM Motor Services
• 5 vehicles from Northstar
• 5 vehicles from City Transport / A&A Coach Travel
• 2 vehicles from Stanley Travel
• 2 vehicles from Shaws of Durham
First SW still put in appearances in Devon predominantly while carrying out Rail Replacement service and until recently a bus was supplied as a 'shuttle' for Plymouth Uni open days.
I assume at the time First must have been tied into a contract to provide a bus for the Uni as this was taken after First had vacated Plymouth.
Recent open days Target Travel appear to have picked up the majority of work and I have not viewed any First buses being used so far this year.
Back to this shot and 32717 heads along Mederia Road on the Hoe providing one of these shuttle services with 'Truronian' and a telephone number on the blinds, an 'odd one out' in a city domoinated by Citybus and Stagecoach.
ZuklinBus GmbH: the articulated bus with register plate TU 103 ET (Mercedes Benz O530G Citaro C2) just arrived to the Heiligenstadt Bahnhof bus terminal, working a service in the suburban line 142 "SHUTTLEBUS IST Austria", from Maria Gugging IST Austria.

I searched my images from my recent travels over and over, but I couldn't find a "perfect" Halloween image to share with you all tonight in celebration of Halloween ..... then it hit me .....
As I mentioned to everyone before, this year in AK, we hit quite a bit of light drizzle days - just enough to make you wear some rain gear, but not enough to "spoil the party". With the amazing fall colors that we were treated to, and the wildlife sightings going well, we really didn't seem to care. Sure it was colder, but even that wasn't a problem for us. As an added benefit of all of the rain showers, afterwards, we were treated to some truly amazing rainbows! No tricks, just treats - as this particular rainbow seemingly appeared to shoot out of the ground like a beam of colorful light as it arched over the Denali landscape. So vivid and totally all of the way to the ground, one would almost be tempted to search for the pot of gold at the end of it :-).
Each rainbow was quite unique - sometimes single, sometimes double, but always fascinating! As beautiful as the autumn landscape was, it added to the view and heightened my appreciation for the beauty displayed before me.

The Shuttle Bus to Stonehenge from the visitor centre arrives at the stone circle to drop off more tourists.You can walk as well if you want but it's about a mile!

Op 25 februari waren we met een groepje in Duitsland om wat treintjes te klikken en wat te vieren. ‘s Ochtends begonnen we met dikke bewolking aan de Lotharstrasse in Duisburg. In de middag brak het open en werd een poging gedaan om een Sonderzug van SVG te fotograferen, deze trein werd echter omgeleid tot grote frustratie van de aanwezige fotografen. Aan het einde van de dag werd het uiteindelijk strakblauw en waren we op zoek naar een bezigheid voor het laatste uurtje licht, de opties die we vantevoren hadden bedacht vielen allemaal af door het weer en uiteindelijk kreeg ik het idee om met de S28 naar Kaarst te gaan. Deze S-Bahn wordt geëxploiteerd door Regiobahn die de unieke Integral-treinstellen inzet die voorheen in Bayern reden. Ad hoc werd een stek gezocht en gevonden bij het station Kaarst IKEA, een stationnetje wat vernoemd is naar de Zweedse meubelgigant één kilometer verderop. Tot drie keer per uur pendelt er een meestal lege shuttlebus tussen het station en de blauwe doos, het station wordt dan ook vooral door forenzen uit de omliggende wijken gebruikt. Terug naar de stek, het zou nog even spannend worden met de schaduwen, ‘s weekends staan er vaak veel vrachtwagens geparkeerd op de weg parallel langs het spoor, geen goede combi met de lage februarizon. Uiteindelijk ging alles top en kon vanuit een vrij parkeervak de Integral van Regiobahn afgeklikt worden, de VT 102 is als S28 onderweg naar Kaarster See, drie kilometer en vier stations verder. De frappante Integral is overigens als modulair ontwerp voor de Weense S-Bahn ontworpen, waarbij zelfs dubbeldeksbakken een optie waren.

Yaki Point, on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park can be reached by free Shuttle Bus only. The area is closed to private vehicles. Access is by park shuttle, on foot, or by bicycle. This location often provides a quiet place from which to enjoy sunset or sunrise. A restroom is located here.
Park at the Visitor Center, then from the shuttle bus terminal, take the Eastbound Kaibab Rim (Orange) Route. In approximately 6 minutes, the bus will arrive at South Kaibab Trailhead; the next stop is Yaki Point.
The Kaibab Rim (Orange) Route is a figure 8 loop that provides transport from the Visitor Center Shuttle Bus Terminal to South Kaibab Trailhead, Yaki Point, Pipe Creek Overlook, Mather Point, and Yavapai Geology Museum.
It is possible to begin a walk on the paved rim trail from Yavapai Geology Museum, Mather Point, Pipe Creek Vista, or the South Kaibab Trailhead, walk for a while, then catch the bus at any of these locations —for a ride back to your starting point.
