Die beste Alternative zum Inka-Trail ist der Zug. Etwa 70% aller Menschen, die nach Machu Picchu reisen, nehmen den Zug vom Bahnhof Ollantaytambo nach Aguas Calientes und dann einen 40-minütigen Shuttlebus, der den Berg hinauf nach Machu Picchu fährt.

The best alternative to the Inca trail is the train. About 70% of all people travelling to Machu Picchu take the train from Ollantaytambo Train Station to Aguas Calientes and then a 40 minutes shuttle bus ride up the mountain to Machu Picchu.

One of the many shuttle buses that ferry the thousands of tourists around the Great Pyramid site on the Giza Plateau. These Zhongtong N Series buses are all air conditioned and electric and basically operate on the hop on/hop off principle at the stopping points around the site. In the right background you can see the ever encroaching city of Cairo and behind the left rear of the bus can be seen the end of the new Great Egyptian Museum that looks out over the plateau.
