We are officially going to do it! After almost 4 years together & moving across the country to be together, its going to happen. Happy Birthday baby ♥
....some things do just fine.
I have no roots. my father was a petroleum engineer and we moved every two years. I think my mother and my sister suffered the most.
I didn't realize that I was rootless, but when my shrink told me, years ago, i had one of those "aha" moments with better understanding.
my friend sati sent the tilandsias; air plants [the grassy ones]...rootless. they are doing just fine.

There's a strength in womanhood that I find so interesting. It's tough and resilient hiding in the eyes of nearly every woman I know. The world isn't always kind to us but we flow, adapt, and grow stronger with each day.
It was International Women's Day yesterday and while in so many ways the battle for equality continues, let's celebrate the beauty in our collective sisterhood. If the women's march showed anything it's our strength in solidarity and what a beautiful thing that can be. Sending all you ladies love wherever you are! ❤

A shop-window with two window dummies and a living lady managing the total look of the shop-window. I took a lot of moves of her. Amsterdam, 2016.
Again, I would like to thank everyone for your support, views, faves and comments!
The common redshank or simply redshank (Tringa totanus) is a Eurasian wader in the large family Scolopacidae.

Mary Dirks was 13 years old when she died. Her simple and plain concrete gravestone stand out in contrast to the marble and granite of other memorials.
Concrete was used, but only when that's all the family could afford. Today, it is in better shape than most of the other markers.
There was a scene here, and I wasn't sure how to capture it. I found the stump and laid the bottle against it (it was on the ground). I wanted both the stump and Mary's stone to be in focus, and basically achieved that.
The sky had a few clouds in it, and I wanted to make sure the film was able to capture them. X-ray film is notoriously bad with skies since it's blue sensitive. The sky is exposed first/most. I used a graduated ND filter, and it worked well enough.
The fingerprints in the sky are my own. I think I was a little careless in the darkroom. I try my best to keep one hand for fixing and one for developing. This is why. My left hand likely had residual fixer on it when I grabbed this sheet. I'll try to be more careful next time.

She always looked forward to death as a kind of graduation.
Happily, in her case, the ceremony was brief.
She will be remembered for her great capacity to love and for the laughter she shared.
I overheard Chandler reveling in the ant crawling on his wrinkly palm... then he looked up and beamed, "She loves me!"
I strive to remember this humble good will in my own life. Saying hello first, being the active listener in conversation, delighting in simple honest friendship... like with a tiny ant.
I don't know what he'd do with a spider.
She would love these. My mother-in-law passed this morning. May she rest in peace.
Off for a bit, see y'all soon.
I was able to show this to a friend who is afraid of spiders and she thought this large spider was beautiful.
She is not the most beautiful version of the twins I own, but she sure is one of the most unique. I'm loving her cold, understated beauty.
The moment right before dawn as the sun sits just below the horizon ready to spread her light all around.
Gracie really wanted to go out and play today but I had a session this morning and a consult this afternoon so she had to stay in. Maybe tomorrow!
We got a new outfit and hands! Yay!
This is dedicated to all women ... for this month and especially Sunday 8th it's the Day of the Woman - delicate yet strong, She is the one ...
"Who gives the gifts of her thoughtfulness,
Who shows her caring with a word of support,
Her understanding with a smile;
A woman who brings joy to others
just by being herself"
To all have a great weekend!
