This is Bella pacing outside the kitchen, waiting for food. When she's excited, she fluffs her tail to make it look as wide as possible. Happy Caturday!

There's a strength in womanhood that I find so interesting. It's tough and resilient hiding in the eyes of nearly every woman I know. The world isn't always kind to us but we flow, adapt, and grow stronger with each day.

It was International Women's Day yesterday and while in so many ways the battle for equality continues, let's celebrate the beauty in our collective sisterhood. If the women's march showed anything it's our strength in solidarity and what a beautiful thing that can be. Sending all you ladies love wherever you are! ❤

My mom has Alzheimer's Disease. Today she was sad, I think. I'm not sure where she was at the time; maybe lost! She came back to us before we had to leave, and had a smile on her face when we told her we would be back soon. Please support Alzheimer's Research if you are able. Too late for my mom, but hopefully will save someone else's in the future. Love you MOM!

after years of searching I have found slotted alloys

The young woman from Greenland accompanied us to our local hosts.

Very interesting what she explained to us.

Die junge Frau aus Grönland begleitete uns zu unseren örtlichen Gastgebern.

Sehr interessant, was sie uns erklärte.

Meet Tuesday Wisp, Twisp for short <3

She was created for me by Lisa/Ragazza of BlytheStudio

She even arrived on a Tuesday...I think Lisa must have planned that ;)

I was able to show this to a friend who is afraid of spiders and she thought this large spider was beautiful.

....some things do just fine.

I have no roots. my father was a petroleum engineer and we moved every two years. I think my mother and my sister suffered the most.

I didn't realize that I was rootless, but when my shrink told me, years ago, i had one of those "aha" moments with better understanding.

my friend sati sent the tilandsias; air plants [the grassy ones]...rootless. they are doing just fine.

She will hold my hand forever. Through fire and rain.. And she will never let me go.

Gracie really wanted to go out and play today but I had a session this morning and a consult this afternoon so she had to stay in. Maybe tomorrow!

We got a new outfit and hands! Yay!

This is a she-wolf who was abandoned by her mother as a puppy. Because she could not survive on her own, she was transferred from Lithuania to the wolf park in the Black Forest.

The Alternative Wolf and Bear Park Black Forest is a wildlife protection project of the association “Alternativer Bärenpark Schwarzwald e. V.” and the “Foundation for Bears” in Bad Rippoldsau-Schapbach in the Freudenstadt district. The aim is to accommodate large animals - especially bears - that are in distress, to impart environmental education on animal husbandry issues and to spread it through tourism in the Black Forest Central/North Nature Park.

The park was opened in 2010, as the second project of its kind after the Alternative Bear Park in Worbis, with a bear. Then wolves and more bears arrived. In 2012, a separate enclosure for old animals was built. In 2016, lynxes were also recorded for the first time.[1]

The park area covers approximately 10 hectares. As of January 2024, 9 bears, 3 lynxes and 1 wolf live there. Most of these animals had been kept by private individuals in species-appropriate conditions before they came to the park.

This female ruby-throated hummingbird is buzzing around the feeder and I'm enjoying every second of it!! The hummingbirds seem to be extra hungry lately. They have swarmed my feeders 10 to 15 at a time....that is if I can count them as they charge each other!

Hope you have a great Friday and a fun Labor Day weekend!!

Nesta Marley sells seashells by the seashore,

The shells she sells are seashells, I'm sure.

And she definitely offers discounts for trade-ins to hermit crabs.

NB: The giant shell was one of the first purchases I made in Scotland when I arrived in 1997. I bought it for 5 pence from a little girl who had a few goodies spread out on a towel near our flat. The rest came from a potpourri jar that was left behind in my previous flat.

Carefree, she walked and I watched her from the confinement of my inner world.

Mary Dirks was 13 years old when she died. Her simple and plain concrete gravestone stand out in contrast to the marble and granite of other memorials.

Concrete was used, but only when that's all the family could afford. Today, it is in better shape than most of the other markers.

There was a scene here, and I wasn't sure how to capture it. I found the stump and laid the bottle against it (it was on the ground). I wanted both the stump and Mary's stone to be in focus, and basically achieved that.

The sky had a few clouds in it, and I wanted to make sure the film was able to capture them. X-ray film is notoriously bad with skies since it's blue sensitive. The sky is exposed first/most. I used a graduated ND filter, and it worked well enough.

The fingerprints in the sky are my own. I think I was a little careless in the darkroom. I try my best to keep one hand for fixing and one for developing. This is why. My left hand likely had residual fixer on it when I grabbed this sheet. I'll try to be more careful next time.
