Every summer our swamp becomes covered with duckweed, making a lovely screen for shadows cast on it. I find it fascinating how different the shadows are from hour to hour, and day to day. On this day I was struck by how the shadows resembled a Japanese painting.
Perhaps the duckweed makes this a bit like a pointillist painting.

I was busy taking pictures of this tree and when I turned around to go back to my car there was it's huge shadow...the best part!

This is a boylesque dance to a Queen medley, very 70s. It starts with Waxie in handcuffs and he has to strip to get the key out of his jock strap and remove the cuffs. It was pretty imaginative.
Sunday was the sixth and last day of the festival.
The star of the documentary 'Waxie Moon', www.imdb.com/title/tt1351269/, also gave a performance, which was great.
Austin Gay & Lesbian International Film Festival, www.agliff.org/, is celebrating it's 22nd year.
The Alamo Drafthouse, www.drafthouse.com/, is hosting the festival at its South Lamar location.
My son on deck today at his ball game. I liked the shadow. Guessing the onlookers wondered why I wasn't taking pictures of his face.
