These steps lead up to the Tomb of the Uknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. Taken a few years ago in the late afternoon sunlight - I liked shadows on the stone steps.

Standing in the hallway today getting the kids ready to go to bed I caught my shadow. I have 17 days left of this pregnancy and so I hollered to my husband to grab the camera. Very tricky. This is also very un-edited. I was just curious as to what y'all thought.

I used my camera to take this photo of a wooden seat. I thought the shadows contrasting the verticle lines made an interesting photo. I stood directly above the planks of wood to take this.

Light, Shadows & Street, Istanbul

Really reminds me of a book I used to read as a kid, called Pelles ficklampa [Pelle's flashlight] (written and illustrated by Jan Lööf, awesome illustrator mostly known for Skrot-Nisse). Pelle passes weird shadows in the dark on his way with pancakes to his uncle (some story huh?). The shadows look like monsters but are mearly machines. Haunting!
