A couple of sporophytes of Tortula muralis. These structures, so small we tend to overlook them, are massive compared to the moss that produces them (next picture).
Made a quick trip up to Wasaga for the weekend to enjoy the water one last time before the Fall. I shot this at an old abandoned racetrack we discovered, thanks to a potential new hobby, Geocaching. Unfortunally I don't really have any interesting pictures of the actual racetrack.
Steptoe Butte, Washington. Shadows of clouds fall onto the Paloiuse, black and white. Ryan McGinty
Some interesting shadows I captured a week ago from Steptoe.
Enjoy,

Shadows from the weak winter sun on the north wall of the Hirshhorn Museum's sculpture garden. That's me at lower left. I'm looking forward to spring.
I liked how the trees were casting shadows on the grass so I took a picture. I thought the way the shadows were being cast upon the grass shows off nature's art. It is as if the grass is the canvas.
So another shadow picture. This time, it's a bit more difficult to guess the location I have to commit... But we have long legs again.
After trying every time I've seen a Shadow The Hedgehog in an arcade grabber machine since 2006, I finally have him after 2 goes on the LV machine! All hail Shadow!

suddenly a body there
where nobody
notices

Sixty Five: Shadows in photos can either ruin it or they can enhance it. Without good shadows in a photo, the shot has no depth and can be quite dull. And we don't want dull photos, do we? Photos need to portray some depth and three dimensionality to make it interesting.
Here's a shot taken in the late afternoon when the light was golden and warm. The shadows are nice and long due to the sun setting down over the horizon.
