a bench in the sun, but only half. the man sits just on the edge, where the light meets the dark. his back turned, shoulders drawn, as if carrying some thought too heavy to share. the shadow swallows most of him, leaving just a sliver of light on his neck. it’s quiet here, though the city hums somewhere beyond. valencia's sharp winter sun cuts the scene into halves—one bright, one black. sometimes, silence feels louder than the noise.
Shadow Bath is a luminous inflated bathhouse with coloured light and air casting spectacular patterns inside and out, bathing visitors in dynamic patterned shades. The pneumatic form is a mathematical toroidal space, signifying the geometry of the universe.
Shadows on Lake Gnarpurt in Victoria not far from Camperdown, huge skies and amazing views of two lakes on either side of the road, both low with amazing shadows and old decayed fences sticking from the lake bed.
We adopted Shadow as a little puppy in 1963 from an animal shelter in southern Los Angeles when we lived there. We think he was a spaniel-retriever mix of some sort. He made the move with us in 1966 to College Park East in Seal Beach. I took this photo while he was enjoying a treat in our back yard. He was a wonderful family pet! Shadow succumbed to illness in 1974. I get weepy-eyed every time I think of him.
ODC - Long Shadow
You don't need sunlight to create a long shadow you could use the streetlight and the farther you are from the light the longer the shadow gets but in my case i used flashlight to create my long shadow upward to make my figurine a massive size! To create this massive size the closer your light to the subject the bigger your shadow gets.
Goofing around, making the Giant's kettle image a bit more fun ;)

Sometimes the shadow of your camera and tripod gets in the way and you have to improvise.
Even from the shadows this great white egret's beautiful white plumage stands out. He poses above the duckweed in the pond along Alligator Alley trail at Circle B Bar Reserve.

The railings provided an interesting shadow pattern on these steps in downtown Staunton, Virginia. I converted the color original to black & white to accentuate the shadows further.

RAND plastic toy camera (Diana clone) from the 1960s, I have no clue as to where or when this cheap plastic camera came to me, was great fun using it, and was pleasantly surprised by how the photos came out.
