Van vrijdag 21 tot en met zondag 23 september 2012 organiseerde de Severn Valley Railway het ‘Autumn Steam Gala 2012’. Ieder uur reden er treinen van Kidderminster naar Bridgnorth en terug, met extra goederentreinen en extra treinen van Kidderminster naar Highley en terug. Er deed een 12-tal stoomlocomotieven mee: naast de loc’s LMS 2-6-0 5MT loc 42968, GWR 2-6-2T 5101 Class loc 5164, GWR 2-8-0 28 Class loc 2857, GWR 0-6-0PT 15 Class loc 1501, GWR 2-6-2T 45 Class 4566, GWR 4-6-0 78 ‘Manor’ Class 7812 ‘Erlestoke Manor’, de alleen al vanwege haar naam legendarische LMS/BR 2-6-0 Class 4MT 43106 ‘The Flying Pig’ en last but not least het vlaggeschip SR 4-6-2 Battle of Britain loc 34053 ‘Sir Keith Park’ van de Severn Valley Railway zelf, waren er ook de loc’s LSWR 4-4-0 T9 loc 30120 van de Bodmin and Wenford Railway; SR 2-6-0 U Class loc 31806 van de Mid Hants Railway, LNWR 0-6-0T Web Coal Tank loc 7799 van de Keighley and Worth Valley Railway en GWR 0-6-0PT 57 Class loc 3650 (te leen van het Didcot Railway Center).

From Friday September the 21th up to Sunday the 23th included, the Sever Valley Railway organised the ‘Autumn Steam Gala 2012’. Every hour there was a train from Kidderminster to Bridghorth and return, with special freight trains and special trains from Kidderminster to Highley and return. Twelve steam engines were present: LMS 2-6-0 5MT loc 42968, GWR 2-6-2T 5101 Class loc 5164, GWR 2-8-0 28 Class loc 2857, GWR 0-6-0PT 15 Class loc 1501, GWR 2-6-2T 45 Class 4566, GWR 4-6-0 78 ‘Manor’ Class 7812 ‘Erlestoke Manor’, the just because of her name legendary LMS/BR 2-6-0 Class 4MT 43106 ‘The Flying Pig’ and last but not least SR 4-6-2 Battle of Britain loc 34053 ‘Sir Keith Park’, all from the Severn Valley Railway. September 22, 2012 finds a loaded coal train in the process of tying down in the yard at Carbo, Virginia as it passes the open air shop building. This yard and shop are now closed.
Op 14 september bracht de Britse 'The Branch Line Society' een bezoek aan Nederland om allerhande raccordementen te berijden. Aldus werd ook een bezoek gebracht aan de Grinderij te Linne en Solvay te Merum. Treinstel 123 heeft in Linne de Grinderij bereikt.
Op 14 september brach de Britse 'The Branch Line Society' ein bezeuk aan Nederlandj om allerhande raccordemente te berieje. Zo woorde auch ein bezeuk gebrach aan de Grinderie in Lin en de Sodafebriek in Maerum. Treinsjtel 123 is sojüüs oppe Grinderie aangekomme.

“Трапезна палата при Видубицькому монастирі — пам'ятка архітектури початку XVIII ст. Це витягнута в плані споруда з невеликою Спасо-Преображенською церквою на східному кінці будівлі. Стоїть поруч із Георгіївським собором, збудована із ним в один час. Трапезна повністю зберегла свій первісний вигляд — її не надбудовували і не перебудовували.
Мурована трапезна збудована протягом 1696-1701 років коштом стародубського полковника Михайла Миклашевського.
Трапезну звели на схилі і тому вона має різну поверховість: з північного боку — двоповерхова, з південного, що виходить на головний монастирський двір — одноповерхова. Зі сходу до трапезної прилягає одноапсидна невелика церква Спаса Преображення з грушоподібною банею. Фасади розчленовані пілястрами з капітелями, декор головного фасаду представлений низько розташованими спареними вікнами. Фриз і портал прикрашено витонченим ліпним рослинним орнаментом, за характером близьким до народної різьби по дереву. У церкві біля входу з ліва та з права розташовані стасидії.
Розписи інтер'єру XVII-XVIII ст. майже повністю втрачені або записані пізнішими розписами XIX ст.”

Running tender-first the crew of Great Western 2-8-0 2857 keep an eye out as their train approaches Highly station with a northbound service during the SVR September Gala.
Not quite visible on the right is the Engine House Visitor Centre. We caught this train to Hampton Loade.

Meredith Corporation, publisher of Better Homes and Gardens, Good Housekeeping, Redbook and other major magazines, maintains a Test Garden on its Des Moines, Iowa headquarters corporate campus. The Test Garden serves as a display garden, a testing ground for plants, and a photography studio for the company's many publications and Web sites.

Op 2 en 3 september 2023 vond weer het jaarlijkse stoomtreinenfestival 'Terug naar Toen' bij de VSM plaats, tussen Apeldoorn en Dieren. 'Highlight' was de enkele weken rijvaardige loc 41 241, die na een zeven jaar durende restauratie bij de VSM weer in dienst kwam. Verder namen de VSM-loc 23 071, 23 076, 44 1593, 50 307, 50 3654, 52 3879, 64 415, 65 018, 2459 en 2530 deel. De Stoomstichting Nederland was gekomen met de 01 1075 en de 23 023. Al met al elf stoomloc's en twee diesels.
In de vroege middag van 2 september 2023 rijdt loc 23 076 ter hoogte van de Broeksweg in Loenen met een reizigerstrein van Loenen naar Dieren.
For the Centenary of the opening of the Liverpool & Manchester Railway on 15 September 1830 large scale celebrations were organised by a grand committee under the joint chairmanship of the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, the Lord Mayor of Manchester and Sir Josiah Stamp GBE and these took place in Liverpool between 13 and 20 September 1930. A book commemorating the affair was published as was this leaflet using the artwork that formed the book cover - a representation of Rocket, one of the various locomotives trialled and used by the Railway and that has become the most iconic symbol of the opening.
As can be seen there was an exhibition, a fair, a Grand Pageant of Transport, fireworks and the LMS even built a track at Wavertree to allow travel on an 'old time train'- referring to the "replicas of the original trains" that had been built. The Great Pageant even went as far as to show Lancashire Witches in session. The events also included the other 'Big Four' railways, the LNER, the Southern and the GWR.
On 8 September 2021, my plan was to drive west of Calgary to visit a forested area. However, shortly after leaving home and driving south on the highway, it looked like the exit I wanted had been blocked off. There is constant highway construction because of the building of the ring road around the city. You never know which roads or lanes have been changed.
So, instead, I turned around and headed back to the city and called in at Sikome, in Fish Creek Park. Only did a very short walk, including chatting with a couple of birders/photographers for quite a while. The only bird I saw and photographed was a duck, which I think is a female Hooded Merganser.
In September 1987 I spent some days in the northern provincie of Groningen. I wanted to visit some diesel routes, that still had semaphores.
The German DB ran three passenger trains between Groningen and Leer, made up of 624 class diesel emu's.
Heading for home rails, dmu 624-643-3 splits the semaphores at the eastern end of the Zuidbroek yard.
