Many years ago, there were two native tribes who lived on the Bruce Peninsula.

At one point in history, a young man from one of the tribes fell in love with the daughter of the chief of the rival clan.

Native legend suggested that the island was the realm of evil spirits and consequently, it had never been inhabited. It was believed that the evil forces had engulfed the couple who eloped and fled to the island and they were never seen again.

What became of the young lovers will never be known. But, if you look carefully at the top of the largest flowerpot, you will see what appears to be the profile of a native warrior carved in the stone.

We left snow behind to find sun at Cannon Beach. What we thought would be storm watching ended up being lots of beach walking. Always a treat to visit this incredible place. Every time I see Tillamook Rock Light I can not imagine what it must have been like to be a lighthouse keeper there.

First really good evening session of the year took us over to Bedruthan Steps, a location I'd so far not really had the best success with. Past trips had been blighted by poor conditions but last night the photography gods were smiling and finally got the shot at low tide across the wet sand I'd been after for months. Hopefully I've done it justice this time.
