The master model for the robot used in our Mobile Robotics classes in Jersey Shore, PA. The bot as pictured measures 6" long, 5.5" wide, and 3.1" high.
This bot is built around a surplus board originally used with the "Build Your Own Sumo Robot" book by TAB Books. The onboard microcontroller is a Parallax Basic Stamp BS2. The stock board also includes IR proximity detectors, dual H-bridge motor drivers, and 11 available I/Os. Power is supplied by 4 AA batteries. Motive power consists of a pair of small efficient surplus MicroMo / Faulhaber gearmotors with integral quadrature encoders.
Sensors include 2 IR proximity detectors, 2 quadrature encoders, and the front bumper which connects to 2 microswitches to sense physical contact. Except for the main board, I produced all of the parts including the wheels.

Remove the 13mm bolt facing the drivers side of the truck, not the 15mm bolt facing the front of the truck. Then pry the sensor up toward the power steering pump. You won't be able to remove the sensor completely until you loosen the PS / Alternator bracket so you can tilt the PS pump forward slightly.
I took this from the Kohala Mountain Road scenic overlook (from the ground!) The weather was pretty clear, so I figured it might be fun to play with my IR filter again.
I was a little surprised to see the coastline once I got home and looked at it. Since green vegetation tends to reflect a lot of IR, this basically picked up all the golf courses and palm trees along the coast.
Put another way, I now have an infrared resort sensor!
(Of course I was trying to photograph the ruined building in the foreground, and make a nice artistic arrangement against the curve of the coast, but...)
New crank shaft position sensor from GSF. This is the "Standard" one for £42. There was a "Premium" one for £65 but with no supporting evidence of why it was better. So I didn't buy it. Time will tell.

El sensor Automático de encendido de luces se encarga de encender y apagar la luz. El sensor mide las condiciones de luz ambiental con ayuda de una fotocélula y enciende automáticamente las luces de posición y las luces de cruce cuando hay poca luz. La sensibilidad es ajustable.
- El sensor Automático de Lluvia se encarga de activar y desactivar los limpiaparabrisas cuando los sensores detectan que su vehículo está mojado debido a la humedad, gotas de agua o lluvia.
Destaca por ser el único del mercado que adapta la frecuencia del limpiaparabrisas a la frecuencia de la lluvia, es decir, cuando más llueve más rápido barre el limpiaparabrisas. De esta manera, usted puede centrar toda la atención en la conducción aumentando así la seguridad.

This photo is part of a series of photos of the Denver Broncos vs. San Diego Chargers on September 14, 2008. The Broncos won the game within the last seconds of the game 39-38. I was able to get a ticket in row 28, section 108 where most of the photos were shot from.
Because you are not allowed to take telephoto lenses into Invesco Field, all of these images were shot with a wide-angle lens (Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8). All of the action photos are crops of original photos. The crops are around 1/8 of the actual size of the original photo, so the quality is not that good, but I think they pretty decent considering I only had 50mm to work with on a 1.6 crop sensor/11MP (Canon Digital Rebel Xti).
