DGS Science Teacher Jamie Workman received a grant trom the District 99 Education Foundation. He purchased EKG sensor equipment to help teach his anatomy and physiology students about the cardiovascular system. Here, students volunteer to test the sensors, which will be incorporated into lessons in the spring.

I was able to find some VisibleDust swabs I had and cleaned my D3's sensor and pictures look SO much better. Decided to retake some shots I previously took as well as take new ones too!

Detects moisture content of soil. For use with my book planter, which I won't be able to open to tell if the soil needs watering. The alligator clips attach to the nail heads protruding through the side of the book and the sensor illuminates a number of LEDs depending on the conductivity between the two nails.

Here are the results of a little test. Shot at f32 using my 70-200 f4 L lens (so I know the glass is good).
I get the same spots in the same position as I do on my standard 18-55. And boy is it filthy!
So, I need to clean it, any recommendations anyone?
Original idea reads: Calculates number of drinks needed to get action from opposite sex. (not needed for women as it always returns 1 drink) Needs 1-2 minutes of playful banter to give accurate reading. Attaches to any mobile. Save money on drinks!

My sensor is now cleaner than the day I bought it! I've had some obvious specks in there since I bought it. I went to Precision Camera to see what they could do and it was going to cost a lot of money and 2 days. Um, no thanks, I'll live with the specks! I bought the large Giottos rocket blower. It got rid of all but one of my bigger dust spots. So I blew and blew and blew... and went outside to take a photo. I suddenly had a BIGGER dust speck than ever before and right in the middle! Doh!
Frustrated, I called my friend David McLaughlin who is a professional photographer and runs DCM Photography. He invited me over for some real cleaning! A little Eclipse, a little swipe and I had a sparkling clean sensor! Even the numerous tiny specs disappeared.
With all the warnings on the net about how you can't really ever get your sensor perfectly clean, my expectations had been way too low for too long. A little poof of air does a good job, but a little wet swipe does a great job! I am ready for more SoFoBoMo photos.
