When this robot rolls onto the pressure pad, he activates the buzzer. The robot uses the sound sensor to react by backing up (he gets scared and runs away).
A cyanotype is created by mixing 8.1% potassium ferricyanide and 20% ferric ammonium citrate. The substance is sensitive to light. I then paint a surface with that concoction and lay objects on top of the paper. The shadows created by those objects leave a pattern. Each cyanotype is a one-of-a-kind hand crafted work of art.
I create each cyanotype by hand myself. Every cyanotype is unique.
This cyanotype is 8 inches x 10 inches in size. It is matted to an overall size of 11x14. It comes with the mat, backing, and a plastic bag which encloses them all.

Re-opened after a [sensitive] refurbishment by Fuller's. Gibbs and Sons were responsible for the mirrors. They also provided the glasswork for the Red Lion in St James's Street (another Fuller's pub). The back-painted mirrors in the Half Moon show various birds in natural surroundings. I was away from Gracie for 10 whole days! I missed her so much. This is an older archived picture from May.
Luckily she was with Grandma and Grandpa all week and got to play with the Bassett Hounds, have her own Queen bed, go on 2 walks a day, and cleaned the dishes as they were being loaded into the dishwasher. Spoiled girl.

Onoclea sensibilis, the Sensitive fern, also known as the bead fern, is a coarse-textured, medium to large-sized perennial fern.
Installed as part of the North American Landscape, a collaboration between Kew Gardens and the British Museum.
From the British Museum website:
Travel up from the Florida swamps, through the Missouri prairie to the forests of New England and Canada – all without leaving London.
Wander through the landscape and discover more about the relationships between humans and plants – from Native North Americans to New World encounters and modern conservation projects. Experience the changing landscape throughout the seasons from a carpet of colourful daisies in the summer to spectacular orange and red autumn maple leaves. Other planting includes lupins, echinacea and carnivorous pitcher plants.
The plants of the North American subcontinent have global ecological and economic importance. Utilised by native peoples for thousands of years, many were introduced to Europe following the colonisation of North America in the early 1600s. Grown for their medicinal uses, as food crops and for other economic purposes, some species have also become familiar ornamental garden plants.
This is the fifth landscape on the Museum’s West Lawn created in partnership with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, celebrating a shared vision to strengthen cultural understanding and support biodiversity conservation across the world.
