I guess it isn't a despised weed everywhere and I suppose it is a fairly fascinating plant, it also has a very pretty flower.
A year ago Roosevelt High School Principal Kevin Biggs was a freshman of sorts.
It was his first year at the tradition-rich school and he jumped right in with both feet. In no time he was widely known and highly regarded, by parents and students alike, but he remains sensitive to how difficult the transition can be to a new school, especially for students making the big leap from middle school to high school. So this year he’s assembled a team of upperclassmen to mentor the incoming freshman class. They’re called Rider Crew and Monday morning they began a three-day crash course that will train them to meet and greet the frosh when they report for orientation on Thursday.

Taken with a Lomo LC-W camera. The LC-W (wide) has a 17mm lens, and can take half frame, square or full frame images depending on which of three film plane masks is installed.
This is from my third roll of "LomoChrome Purple" which is a new novelty film from Lomography, in which the colour sensitive layers in the emulsion have been re-ordered to give wild colour shifts and some of the flavour of infrared film. Exposed at ISO200 and developed in the Tetenal C41 kit.

i havent been around the last week due the loss of my beloved first dog Sam.
He had been unwell for about 2 weeks but we only found out he had a tumour last week. It was with a heavy heart my parents made the decision to have him put down a few days ago because he had stopped eating and was having horrible nose bleeds.
All very very hard especially for my dad who is now just lost without his best friend.
This was one of the last photos i took of us in the park where sam loved to walk and always lead the way.

An Ilford PanF+ film (expired in March 2018 but stored in the fridge) with my Asahi Pentax Spotmatic SP (year 1971) fitted with its normal lens Asahi Opt. Co. Super-Takumar 1:1.8 f=55 mm (M42 mount).
The 36-exposure film was exposed for 50 ISO and developed using The UltraFin T-Plus developper at dilution 1+6, 22°C, for 9min45s. Expositions were determined either by the camera readings or a Minolta Autometer III lightmeter fitted with a 10° finder privileging the shadow zones.

After process the film was digitalized using a Sony A7 body and a Minolta Slide Duplicator with a Minolta Auto Bellows III with a lens Minolta Bellow Macro Rokkor 50mm f/3.5.

About the camera :
This Asahi Optical Company (originally (旭光学工業株式会社, Asahi Kōgaku Kōgyō Kabushiki-Gaisha) SLR was sold to its first owner on December 11, 1971.
The ASAHI PENTAX Spomatic SP was produced in Japan from 1964 to 1971. This exemplary was sold to me on July 25, 2022 after complete servicing of the camera with the beautifully conserved user manual, the original international warranty card, and a booklet describing the ASAHI PENTAX system.
The camera is equipped with its original normal lens Asahi Opt. Co. Super-Takumar 1:1.8 f=55 (M42 mount), a ASAHI PENTAX Skylight 49 mm filter, the original shade hood in a small leather case, the neck leather strap and the body half ever-ready case only. The two CdS photoresistors are still operated by a functionnal circuitry that is not sensitive by conception to the voltage difference between the original mercury (1.35V) and nowadays available silver-oxyde (1.55 V) batteries. This simple circuitry operates only with the closed diaphragm and gives matching values to a silicon Minolta Autometer III lightmeter.

Bluegrass for the 21st Century. Chris Thile, former mandolinist for NickleCreek, and future host of Prairie Home Companion, led his very personable and talented band through a unique mellow style of bluegrass tunes. Using only a single, incredibly sensitive mic, produced a very crisp and soothly sound. Got to chat with the band briefly after the show.

This lovely little flower has appeared in my garden this year. Don't know what it is but it wraps itself up tight at night and unfurls in the sun. If anyone has any idea what it is, please let me know.
