Upgrading equipment. Adapting studio. Testing lights. Experimenting with exposure. I'm scratching around with unexplored technical or visual ideas.
Once in a while I have a few images to share and find a new direction for deeper exploration.
Here are the results of my most recent session of scratching around in the studio!
COMMENTS WELCOME!!!!!
As I finished documenting the long line for the various California State lottery tickets, I noticed this man directly in front of me going through a stack of them. Asked him how many he purchased, he replied twenty! Sadly to say he did not have a winner!
Scratches — We know what you're thinking...these have to be scratches from when Hugh Jackman was training to fight as Wolverine, right? Sadly, they are not. These are actually bear scratches left on a tree in Paradise Valley, Montana. When looking for a place to set up a trapping (non-invasive bear hair traps) location, scientists look for existing bear signs such as scratches on trees and bear scat (aka - poop). Sometimes traps are set in areas that have no obvious bear signs to determine if bears are, indeed, present.

Compleated today is my first ever scratch made model, Northern counties Dennis Dominator SYPTE 2317 A317 YAK is seen on the route 32 Woodhouse which they were common sight whilst working at Greenland depot.
Everything made from slaters card except wheels / wipers which are paragon.
I liked the lines and angles on this one plus how the eye showed up well. Those claws look great for scratching.

I'm trying to keep my mind occupied today. My parents flew this morning to Mexico because my uncles dad died two days ago. Also, my moms sister is sick with cancer, so they want to see them and offer them support. So me and my sister stayed home. It's tough that they had to fly on the day when my brother died two years ago. I'm feeling extra anxious for them and their safety. I feel like once again things are overwhelming me and I don't want to think so much. I have a fever and I couldn't sleep all night. So here is a texture for you guys.

I put this photo up to remind me to start baking again. I used to make my own cookies for decades but over the past several years I haven't. These chocolate chip with walnuts are my favorite. Hopefully this will inspire me to get back into the kitchen over winter.
