Zucht nogmaals.

Mission San Rafael Arcángel was founded in 1817 as a medical asistencia ("sub-mission") of the Mission San Francisco de Asís as a hospital to treat sick Native Americans of the Bay Area, making it Alta California's first sanitarium. The weather was much better in the North Bay than in San Francisco, and helped the ill to get better. It was never intended to be a stand-alone mission, but nevertheless grew and was granted full mission status on October 19, 1822. Source: Wikipedia

Near San Agustin, Colombia a pre Incan culture left many carved statues in and near their tombs and sacred places. Many of the statues depict a rather blood thirsty deity. An hour walk from town brings one to a site of excavated tombs and a display of statues and statuettes in a forest reserve trail.

I felt a oneness with nature as I trekked from hut to hut on the mountain massif. Each of these simple hut shelters was about a half day's strenuous walk apart, especially considering that all supplies had to be carried in my backpack. This alpine valley view shows Nandalana Peak 2,592 and Khuto Peak, 2,758 meters in the background as I trekked between Thuchila Hut and Sombani Hut.

Golden Gate Park's Children's Playground was the first public playground in the country. Three different carrousels have been housed here. The Hershell Spillman Carrousel was built in 1914 in North Tonawanda NY and was installed at the World's Fair on Treasure Island in 1928. It was then moved to GGP where it remains today. One of less than 100 turn of the century wooden carrousels to remain intact and in full operation, this restored carrousel has delighted young and old alike since 1984.

Pacemaker Crown Graphic large format view camera with Kodak Ektar 100 negative film. Double exposure.

You have to be very careful with every aspect of large format photography. I captured a very nice rich sunset across the city from my hotel balcony. I then forgot to note the exposure and forgot about it. When I came across the holder labelled as exposed I doubted it and decided that torn between the possibility of having unexposed film or double-exposed I would choose double. The second exposure was from the top of Telegraph Hill.

An acacia forest borders some of the lake and contains populations of dik dik, bush buck and other classic African wildlife.

There are 62 menagerie animals and 4 chariots. The Decorative Housing which included: 54 pictorial panels and 18 carved masks were also lovely restored. She designed the color palette and hand painted the entire carrousel. These pieces were in an extremely depressed state with signs of major dry rot and worn surfaces throughout.
